We made a great choice for an afternoon of adventure and exercise. The front-end administrative process was thorough and thoughtful. Upon reservation a credit card is required which is not charged until you actually arrive on your tour date due to the possibility weather may prevent your tour. Every aspect was carried out with detailed attention, i.e. equipment, lunch, water. Our guide, Gabriel, was delightfully friendly and low-key. We are glad we left early for our tour time as we were staying on the north end of the island and encountered the ever-present slow traffic in the Wailua area. Go early; have a great time.

Zach was a terrific guide for our kayaking/hiking adventure. We kayaked about 2 miles up the Waimea River then hiked about a mile into Secret Falls. He made sure we all knew the proper paddling form and watched to make sure everyone was able to safely cross the river on the hike. It was a relaxing afternoon of easy to moderate exercise. The falls were spectacular and I do recommend going fully into the pool of water at the base of the falls. Afterwards, a dinner on the beach at Lava Lava very close to our meeting place was a perfect topper to an excellent day on Kauai.

This was a challenging but very rewarding experience, The kayaking way back was exhausting, the hiking great, the guide even better. If I may have a bit of a complaint, it is the time at the water fall, it seems to me too short. Other than that, a great experience. We recommended and would love to do it again!

Great trip, Mason, our guide, very friendly and fun, made a point of knowing our names. He was very informative, pointing out landmarks, telling of traditions, singing a traditional Hawaiian song, the plant life, even digging up a worm to feed a bird. We appreciated his help navigating through the rocks, lending a helpful hand. Especially appreciated Mason taking pictures throughout the hike and at the falls.

This was a highlight of our trip to Kauai. Zack was an incredible, calm, funny, very aware and connected guide. The entire trip, from getting in the kayaks his distribution of the pineapple, felt like we were all old friends. Never flustered, never bothered, always looking to connect, with a willingness to pause so we could all take it in. He presented the adventure with true appreciation for Kauai and all it has to offer and with full intention to share it on a personal level.

Our guide was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He knew so much about the area, local fauna and island history, making the hike so much more enjoyable. Pleasant paddle up the river. The hike was not too difficult but be prepared to get wet and a bit muddy. Wear good shoes as it can be slippery. Kayaks, seats and paddles are in good condition. They provide a dry bag for your gear.
The falls are beautiful! Sandwiches and fruit for lunch served so beautifully that it made the food taste better.
Overall great adventure. Would definitely recommend

We love to kayak and hike and this trip was very amazing. Our guide,Zack, had a great personality and educated us on flor and fauna and historical facts of the area. It was a small group and the early morning was the most quiet and perfect time.

We did the river tour and Zach as our guide, he was great! The weather was perfect for our river trip and our hike. The trails were not too muddy and Zach was very patient with us as we hiked getting to the falls, we were on the slow side. The river and the falls were well worth seeing and Rainbow Kayak was very easy to book, highly recommend this tour and company.

Zach was our wonderful guide on this super fun hike/kayak trip. He was funny, patient, and helpful as our family of four (and the other 8 participants) navigated our way up the Wailua River and then trekked through the jungle to the falls. It rained non-stop! Even with that, it was still just gorgeous and one of our favorite things we did/saw. None of us our super hikers or incredibly athletic (I’m 53 and walk regularly/SUP occasionally but that’s it!) so this trip is very doable. As for the hike, as long as you are careful with your footing, wear proper footwear (we all opted for old tennis shoes that could be tossed afterwards!), and don’t mind getting muddy, then you’ll love it. The kayak part was not difficult but does take some effort on the return trip with a headwind. With all the rain, we only did a quick dip in the falls then wolfed our well earned sandwiches down, then headed back. Soooo lovely and fun. Can’t recommend this trip enough!

I absolutely loved this group and our guide Allen B, w.s so knowledgeable, helpful, and I have to say, incredible. He communicated with us every step of the way, led us through the mud, streams and more after an intense kayaking up the river. It pissed with rain and we were all soaked but he made every moment fun and memorable.
