A fun, active tour with a gorgeous view!

First let me start this review by saying if you aren't a fan of mud or hiking, this tour isn't for you! The hike is fairly challenging if it's recently rained, which, on Kauai, is... read more

And we don't mean in a good way! Wailua kayak adventures advertises that our guide will fill us in on Kauai's historical and religious significance, we heard none of this! One of the first things out of his mouth was " I only make money if you tip me". All snacks are organic???? Not on our tour! And forget the... More

First let me start this review by saying if you aren't a fan of mud or hiking, this tour isn't for you! The hike is fairly challenging if it's recently rained, which, on Kauai, is pretty common. The tour consisted of a 45 minute kayak trip down the Wailua river to the head of the trail, which then winds about... More

What a great time! The staff is friendly. It is a family run business, which I prefer to support when I'm not sipping on my latte from Starbucks and purusing the shelves at Walmart. No really, they are a multi-generational family-run business that are well worth supporting. The facts: You kayak about 2.5 miles up a river to a trailhead.... More

This company is run and staffed by great, friendly people who really love what they do. The river is beautiful, but the hike to the waterfall was even better. And the waterfall is spectacular. We will definitely be back!

We did several activities while on Kauai and this one was our favorite. I would call this tour unassuming and laid-back but with plenty of adventure and natural beauty. We kayaked with our children ages 8 and 10 and we all did just fine and had a great time. I was glad we had a guide because the trail head... More

My wife and I fly all the way from Virginia to Hawaii, and what's one of the first things that we do? A kayak river tour, of course! The first thing that you really need to know is that the river is truly a class 0. I mean, I'm pretty sure there wasn't so much as a current on that... More

OK, this is a great little adventure. You get to pull water up a river to a wonderful hike through a interesting historical area and arrive at great waterfall. NOW, if you are fortunate enough to get Forest for your guide, you are in for a trip. You will learn some Hawaiian language and history and be so entertained it... More

Booked this activity because of the reviews and I didn't make a wrong decision. It is physically demanding. But the reward in the end is worth it. We started early compared to the other competing companies. Meaning, we arrived earlier than the rest which gave us an opportunity to have the waterfalls to ourselves. It does entail paddling against the... More

Even the inexperienced kayaker can be successful on this low stress adventure which combines kayaking with a forest hike. Our guide, Dontaz, was first rate. As a local who grew up in the area, he had great familiarity with the flora, the fauna, and the legends. He even taught us to make rope from tree bark. Be prepared to get... More

You have to be able to paddle a ways and hike through a stream and over roots and some muddy ground, but well worth the adventure.
