    Wow! Great experience
I hadn’t been on a bike for 25 years, but the old is saying is true.. My husband and I rented two bikes and took them along the paved trail. 10 miles total. Absolutely beautiful. Bikes are in great shape, definitely worth the time and $$. We will do it again next time in Kauai.

One of the best parts of our vacation
For the third year in a row we rented bikes from Coconut Coasters and all I can say is they are absolutely great. We actually extended our time in Kauai an extra day this year so we could rent bikes three times. We were still in the computer from last year, and after we checked in the first day our next two times were a total breeze. Once again we rented 3 speed coasters which are just perfect for cruising along the bike path. They do have other types of bikes available. Sparky set our bikes up again and Brandon also helped get us situated one morning. The bike path is 10 miles long and if you want to do a very vigorous ride you can do most of it in an hour. A far better approach is to take 2 hours, make many stops to look at the utter beauty of the coast, look for whales in season of course, of which we saw tons. I strongly recommend getting a basket on at least 1 bike, and bringing bottled water so you can hydrate while you are stopping to take pictures or just enjoy the view. If you ride in the morning, lunch at the food truck park next door is a great option. Riding on the paved sidewalk alongside the ocean is almost surreal, although totally safe. These guys really take outstanding care of you, and I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.

    Great time
Coconut Coasters is in a great location. Just rent the bikes and go from there right on the bike path. Upgrade to the 3 speed - it was nice to have. There was a free coupon in one of those kauai guide magazines. They also give you a free lock for when you want to go down to a beach. Great bike path. Right next door is Chicken in a Barrel - good place to eat.

I was riding by today with a flat tire so I stopped in to ask to borrow a pump for a second. I was told, "Unfortunately since you didn't rent here I can't help," with no suggestion of a nearby gas station or anyplace to get air. Not cool.

We are a family of five, and a local friend suggested we use Coconut Coasters for our bike rental when wanting to bike the Kapaa path. We couldn't have been happier with the service and price! These bikes are upkeep and very smooth, making for a really relaxing and fun outdoor experience. (We also rented from the $5 an hour company later in the week when Coconut Coasters was closed, and those bikes were awful in comparison! Very hard to ride, which really put a damper on our experience!) A young man named Justin offered SUPERB and friendly service in helping adjust the bikes to our liking. We received the kamaaina rate since we are from Oahu and it was an absolute steal! My little ones loved the ride in the trailer and my older son had a blast biking on his own. The Kapaa trail is gorgeous and a great 2-hour family activity. You can tell we had a great time since the kiddos requested a second run a few days later... but like I said, it's too bad we couldn't use this company a second time. Will definitely be back!

Can't compare to other bike rental places since this is the only one we've tried; rented beach coasters here twice (different yrs) - the place is well positioned essentially right along the Kapaa coast bike path. Best section is ~3.5 mi going north along beautiful section of coastline and mostly undeveloped land on the land side. The 1.5 mi section going south from here is a good ride but mostly built out (homes/hotels) on the land side and coastline is not as spectacular as going north.
If you're in the area, a little further south from Coconut Coasters, still in Kapaa, is the Mermaid Cafe - super fresh ahi or chicken wraps, sandwiches, salads. Don't let the 'hole in the wall' appearance fool you. Next door is also a great modern cafe with good coffee drinks and smoothies.

Renting bikes from Sparky and the crew at Coconut Coasters was a highlight of our Kauai vacation. It's a nice break after lunch or coming/going from the North Shore if you happen to reach Kapaa at quit work time and the traffic is moving just a bit slowly. Take your bike either direction along the path just off the shop. My preferred direction is left-north. The path is paved and wide, easy if you encounter other people cycling. You see all kinds of people enjoying the path, running, walking or cycling. It is easy to see whales during the season, and turtles, surfers, birds. Plus you can detour down to the beach for a break or swim. It could not have been easier to get the bikes and ride. They are cruiser bikes so take your time and enjoy the ride. Great service from the whole crew, they got us fitted for the right sized bike for everyone in our group. Mahalo and Aloha until we can come again to this most beautiful place on earth.

Last February we enjoyed a long awaited trip to Kauai.. While there we rented bikes from Coconut Coasters. It was a busy morning in the shop and the fellow (owner?) was alone but quickly got the family ahead of us set up and then attended to our needs.
We rented some Hybrid bikes and headed up the Kauai Path. I had not been on a bike for 3 yrs due to some balance issues. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride and was surprised how comfortable the bike was compared to my mountain bike back home.

Fast forward 5 months. I am now looking to replace my mountain bike with one similar to the one we rented in Kauai,. I was not sure of the exact make and model
so I emailed Coconut Coasters asking if they had a record of the bike I rode. Within
2 hours the phone rang - the phone - not an email reply - imagine my suprise when it was from Coconut Coasters. The fellow said he just figured calling was easier than back and forth email and quickly filled me in on the bike I had rented.

In this day and age it is hard to get people to return calls or emails locally - never mind from Hawaii to Canada. I commend the owner for his actions and would
recommend this company to anyone visiting Kauai. I thought i had written a review
when we got back home but apparantly life resumed and it was forgotten.
Anyways - thanks again - CC for great service!!

Very friendly service and a great location for bike path access. You can rent bikes by the hour, half day and full day. With new Kauai path right next door this is my new favorite on Kauai. Will do as long I am physically able.

We decided the day before as we were driving through Kapaa to rent bikes the next morning. I had read some reviews before our trip, but did not make reservations since we were just going day-by-day. What a great decision! We got there first thing in the morning, rented our bikes with no problem (the guy at the front was super friendly), got situated on our cruisers and headed off! I believe the path was 4 miles down one way and 1 mile the other (so if you go the whole route 10 miles). The 4 mile stretch is beautiful, what a great way to see the coastline. The path was not that busy so it was very enjoyable. There are several picnic tables and places to stop and enjoy the views. I highly recommend taking a few hours to do this.

I highly recommend renting bikes and riding the Kapaa trail. About 10.5 miles of ocean front/view fun. And the place to get your bikes is Coconut Coasters. Great staff! Nice Bikes! We rented for the half day and the rates were very reasonable. You could rent for less or full day if you want.

Rented couple of bikes here for a ride along the coast. A half day rental (4 hrs ?) ended up costing about $25 per bike. They have single speed coaster types or multiple gear bikes. The bikes look kind of beat up, but they were functional and well maintained. They also make any necessary adjustments right there and then for you. The staff was very friendly and the check in and out process was very quick and efficient. The shop is right next to the trail and there is parking nearby.
