We actually went here as part of a walking tour of Hanapepe (although we drove to this location), which isn't what you would typically expect on a food tour, but it turned out to be a great stop. Laura & David are great, and we enjoyed spending time with them and learning some of the history of their business. We were fortunate enough (because of the tour) to taste some of their spices, which are awesome. Hot Lava was a favorite with us, but they have a lot of options.....something for everyone. I doubt that we'll ever be back to the physical store, but it's great to know that all their salts & spices are available online, and can be shipped.

Every time we go to Kauai we stop by Salty Wahine to buy some of their amazing salts and rubs. My favorite is Hot Lava, but the Fiery Dragon Fruit & Java Steak Rub is also yummy. We try to support local businesses, and the Salty Wahine is the perfect place for this!

This is a fabulous store. The Hawaiian rub, guava garlic salt and our new favorite...hawaiian curry! Stock up every year to take home for a reminder of this beautiful island. Great gifts for family and friends. We walk in and the fragarance of the spices welcome us as well as the wonderful people that work there!

A fun little shop dedicated to selling the salts and spice rubs produced at the warehouse next door, this is a must stop for foodies or gifts for foodies.
Immensely helpful and very friendly staff make picking out salts, flavoured salts and spice rubs easy and entertaining.
After discovering a pamphlet for Salty Wahine at local chain gift shop we plugged the address into our GPS and easily found this shop. We popped in on a quiet day when no one appeared to be shopping in the tiny showroom. By the time we left, the place was buzzing with patrons.
The shopkeeper guided us through most every one of the locally made spice rubs and salts (most all the spices in the rubs are locally sourced too) and gave us excellent advice and even recipes. She also pointed out the sale items and we loaded up our bag with these delicious treasures!
Once we got home, we immediately started using these and have already deemed the Hawaiian Rub our favourite!

If you are a foodie, this is a must stop. We have driven by here a bunch of times and finally decided to drop in. We were greeted by the owner(believe he was as he was pictured upon the wall). He explained the salt products to us, the different flavours and best way to use them. We bought the Hot Lava and Passion Fruit Chilli Pepper on his recommendation. Also if you buy three salts in the grinders you get the 4th for free( which he kindly pointed out!). I bbq’d ribs and chicken using the Hot Lava and it produced a great unique flavour. They also ship so if you buy some you like and run out you can reorder.

We asked two people in Old Hanapepe where this was and they didn't know. Well, it is on the main highway. If you don't go into Old Hanapepe Town, which was a sleepy little town, you will likely go right past it. The people inside were very friendly. I bought all sorts of unique Kauai gifts here. So much easier to transport, or ship home, than a pineapple or chocolate mac nuts! Many different flavors of rubs, at least three kinds of local salts. AND great coconut lip balm.

My mum had bought some smaller packs of different products a couple of years ago. Last week we were back on Kauai so we went to the factory itself to pick up some more. I bought 4: Hot Lava, Hawaiian Rub, Guava Garlic Salt and Passionfruit Chilli Pepper. I just tested them out on a salmon, potato and corn on the cob dinner and it was delicious! Definitely recommend trying them out!

So happy that they have their own storefront. Have not been in Kauai for 8 years. I was introduced to this product at the Farmers Market at the Community College in 2009. Use it extensively in my cooking and gift to fellow amateur gourmet cooks.

We ran across this shop while driving by and visiting Kauai Cookie Factory next door. Their products are excellent. Wonderful flavors, huge variety, great quality grinders. I bought several for my home and for my extended family. Good discounts with quantity purchases, including freebies. It's especially meaningful and a wonderful remembrance to have locally made natural product.

We visited the Salty Wahine on a Sunday during a trip with our extended family. What an eye opening experience. I purchased some pepper blends for friends back home. The Li Hing Margarita Salt is very tasty. The real winner is the Passion Fruit Cane Sugar which I sprinkled on strawberries. So yummy!
