After 2 days of no response to an on line inquiry I decided to call and only then learned of the accident. :( I few with Gerry way back when-I told him I was a thrill seeker and wanted to fly thru a cloud. My wish was answered and my life will for ever be enhanced with that experience. We... More

To my knowledge, all 3 companies offering power hang glider flights on Kauai are closed. Birds in Paradise I believe closed in late winter following the death of the owner. I visited the Port Allen airfield and found their trailer gone.

Best experience on the island! Flew with Gerry back in October of 2012, had such a great time went back to fly again, but were sadly met by a vacant field. Gerry passed away in an accident just 2 weeks before we returned to the island. in March of 2014. The unanswered calls and emails suddenly made sense. Not sure if... More

My wife and I dropped by Birds on 2/18/14 to arrange a flight for the next day. This is an out of body experience! You are sitting behind Gerry or Eric with nothing around you but the abyss. The lifts off the Canyon can make things a little bumpy, but that is part of the thrill. And these two are... More

My wife and I have been flying with Birds in Paradise for 12 years now. Every time we are on Kauai we go ultralight flying with Gerry and his crew. It's just you and your pilot, strapped into a trike which is suspended below a huge hang glider wing. There is an aircraft engine behind you which drives a propeller... More

My husband and I flew with Gerry and Eric 2-8-14. We had scheduled earlier in the week but weather wasn't good. They were very helpful in rescheduling. The flight was phenomenal! I have been in helicopters and small planes and this does not compare. The views were outstanding and the knowledge of the island by both Gerry and Eric was... More

My husband and I took the first flight in the morning and got to see the sunrise over the ocean. Instructors responded to our varying levels of comfort and desires to participate. We were lucky to have a great experience and good conditions despite the fact that it had been raining on the island for a few days before we... More

The helicopter tours are fun, but nothing like this....skip the 'copters and take at least an hour flight with these guys. My wife and I had a blast and she's scared to be 3 steps up on a ladder! VERY professional and highly experienced pilots with immaculate equipment. Safety and care are top in their minds. And the scenery?.....this beautiful... More

After a morning of none stop raining we thought for sure our trip would be cancelled. Nope they didn't care that it was cloudy and visibility was awful, we were going up or we would be charged either way! Thrilled we were able to see clouds for $275 a piece! Pass on this Company!!

My wife and I flew with Gerry and Eric 01-23-2014. The weather was perfect and the scenery was breathtaking. First time in a glider for my wife and she was a little nervous but that only lasted a couple of seconds. It's a little spendy but 100 times better than a helicopter. We will definitely be playing in the sky... More
