Beautiful garden and preserve maintained by the National Botanical Gardens. I booked the guided tour which is a bit expensive @ $40 per person but the fee helps maintain the gardens and it was worth having Freddie, our guide, regale us with facts, figures, and...More

The grounds are beautiful but I didn't need to pay 40 dollars to see what I can already see all around the island. Save your money and go walk around outside,

This garden is near the end of the road on the North Shore but it's worth the drive if you're up to a little bit of a workout. The gardens currently cover about 17 acres and the self-guided tour has about a 200 foot vertical...More

This is yet another place in Kauai where we felt like we were being transported to another time. This garden tells the story of the arrival of plants to Kauai, first with no human assistance, then with the Polynesians, and then during modern times. They...More

We learned a lot about Kauai and its history through the vegetation. It is a beautiful place and nice for a cooler cloudy or even rainy day if you don't mind getting a little damp.

Husband and I did the self directed tour. Very detailed guidebook. Amazing ancient terraces. Strong emphasis on history of original Hawaiians. Many endangered plant specimens. Showed damage caused by invasive species. Beautiful walk/hike. Come prepared for rain.

You might want to go to their sister garden in the southern part of the island. It's the NTBS Allerton Garden. It's a lovely stroll as the gardens were planted by the Allerton's as outdoor rooms. Perfect for the entire... More
