Loud music inside. Sat outside on the porch. Cute, rustic place. Great server. Ribs were some of the best I have had! Very fun evening!!!

After we watched the movie, "The Descendants," we knew we had to eat at Tahiti Nui. There are only so many restaurant choices in Hanalei so we probably would have tried this place anyway. I turned out to be a good choice. I had the Mahi mahi with lemon caper and butter, very good. My wife had the Greek salad, pretty good. This is a fun place. Wanted a casual dinner and to hear some local music. This place was a Great choice. We had a very nice and attentive waitress. We started by splitting the beet salad. It was huge. Plenty for two to share as an appetizer. Loaded with fresh red and golden beets . Great greens served with a really yummy lillikoi vinegrette. They were all out of the fresh catch (weird cause it was only 7pm). But our waitress suggested an Ono roll- (fresh ono fish covered with a macadamia nut crunch). It was really good. My husband had the chicken entree ( also macadamia crusted). He really liked it. Prices reasonable. The cocktail drinks sounded really good on the menu. They were good but not special. I had the lillikoi martini and he had their special mai tai. We’ve had better. The music was great. It was a Thursday night when they always have this Hawaiian couple playing. He does the music and she does Hawaiian dance with it. Excellent. Some Hawaiian songs mixed with some rock n roll/ reggae. He plays guitar and ukulele. We really enjoyed it. …

Erin recommended the Poke chips ( out of this world) and let us order coconut shrimp that was not on the lunch menu. We ordered Kalua pork for the kids. Everything tasted great, and was great for the whole family …
