Great place to boogie board!

Fantastic waves, no crowds, smooth sand and a picture postcard view. What more could you ask for? Just watch the undercurrent.

A really good beach among all the good beaches on Kauai. We stopped for me to try a bit of snorkeling.....it was fun, water was perfect depth for a beginner.....very nice beach.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Kauai. The picturesque pier and the Hanalei hills in the background make a great backdrop for visitors and photographers alike.

Hanalei Beach is like a picture post card with the crescent shaped beach ringed by green mountains. This is a great walking beach with hard nearly flat sand. The parking is limited but people seem to make their own parking spots. At the pier near the end of the beach are restrooms and a shower. There are actually 3 access... More

Hanalei Beach is postcard perfect. The surrounding mountains, pier, beach and beautiful water color make this a spot not to be missed. The day we were there, the waves were small and good for boogie boarding or beginning surfers. It is such a beautiful spot and gorgeous place to spend the day.

Picture postcard beach & great for playing in the surf, paddle boarding, swimming, walking and gathering some rays. We visited the far north end a couple of times and enjoyed a relaxing time!

Hanalei beach is a slice of heaven. It's a great place to catch a wave if you're into that, and it's also big enough to take a nice long walk. There are picnic areas that typically fill up fast, but between the great atmosphere, the breeze and the awesome pier where you can take lots of great photos, this beach... More

We had a beautiful day here, took the local bus from Kapaa packed a lunch and walked along the beach, then onto the Pier for our Picnic Lunch. Beautiful view of the Bay and back at the Mountains!!!

There are literally beaches all throughout the island.... many of them overcrowded (possibly overrated), and a few of them pretty empty (and vastly underrated). Situated on the north shore, Hanalei Bay is somewhat of a compromise. Yes, you will find many visitors there, but the beach is also about 10x the size of Poipu Beach and offers much better scenery!... More
