We went on their catamaran cruise down the Napali coast in September. Only seven people were on the boat. It was a bit awkward getting on the dingy then onto the boat but we were assissted. The sea was a little rough and I am glad I took my seasick pills. Definitely a must. We stopped and snorkeled and saw plenty of fish. It was a warm day so take sunscreen and a hat. My 12yo grandson loved laying in the nets with water splashing on him. When they caught a fish they asked him to reel it in which was awesome fun for him. The views were spectacular. The only downside for myself, daughter and grandson was that we are vegetarians and they only had meat sandwiches on board. It does pretell you to bring your own dietary needs but for the cost of the trip and in this day and age it really shouldn't be that hard to have salad sandwiches also.

I sailed on this same boat about 13 years ago. My husband and I had a great time. I was visiting again with family and really wanted them to have this experience. When I looked at availability for my days in town, there was none that would work (48 hour visit). I emailed and asked if they would consider opening a day and they did. I am so grateful to them because it was a perfect day. Several other people signed up and we had about 8-10 people. It was wonderful, we saw spinner dolphins, snorkeled amongst turtles and countless different fish, and the lunch (I had to bring my own vegetarian lunch) was great per my travel mates. The captain's mate cut up fresh fruit which was delicious. Water, juice and soda was provided. We were so close to the cliffs that a child could throw a stone and hit them. Excellent adventure. I very highly recommend this tour. It is not a cattle car experience like I suspect some of the others can be. This tour requires a dinghy ride to the boat so may not be suitable for those with significant physical challenges. If you get the chance, take this tour!

Captain Nick and Dylan were wonderful guides. Very knowledgable, warm, and helpful. The snorkeling was spectacular (we saw lots of sea turtles!), the water was warm, and the views were breathtaking. And the boat itself was really fun, especially with the waves. I'd highly recommend Captain Sundown as your tour of the coast.

There are many boat trips on the coast but I really liked that Captain Sundowns trip was longer in duration and left from the North shore ( less sea time to the good stuff), their boat was also just the right size, ie, big enough to be comfy and not get tossed about but small enough to get close to the shore and caves and feel like you're on a tour bus. These trips are not cheap but they are worth every penny. You will see some of the most scenic views on earth. Food was good. Captain Nick is a local and his love and knowledge of the area is obvious. Felt very safe. Here is a tip....schedule early in your trip. That way if you need to reschedule due to weather cancelation you have some time to do so.

Had a great day on the water with stunning scenery sailing on a comfortable catamaran. Captain Nick and first-mate Dylan were very friendly and down-to-earth. On our day, the winds were light so we motored down the coast. Sailing might have set a lovely backdrop but not by much. The boat, the water, the light winds, the waves and the cliffs; it was all stunning. We motored a good way down the coast and stopped in a nook on the coast to snorkel. Snorkeling was relaxing although I will note that the underwater scenery was a little modest. We've snorkeled in a lot of places across the US and Caribbean and this stop was not the particularly the best. Not sure if the underwater scenery ebbs and flows. After snorkeling, the cruise had some tasty sandwiches. On the way back, the catamaran ran through a pod of dolphins and a few of the dolphins ran with the us in the bow wave. Also, Captain Nick relayed a lot of the local Hawaiian history and the local Hawaiian geography. At one point, he backed the catamaran against some shear cliffs; it was pretty cool. Overall I highly recommend.
