Open Mon-Sunday 10am-6pm We are a boutique Day Spa with a friendly Hawaiian feel. Located on the property of the 5 acre pristine beach front Hanalei Colony Resort. Our staff is dedicated to providing consistent excellent customer service. We focus primarily on couples although we offer spa services for singles as well. We start off with a basic massage which is light pressure, then we tailor your experience from there. Guests frequently indulge in an Authentic Hawaiian experience with beach side Lomi Lomi Massage. We offer a wide variety of therapies to suit individual needs and couple's needs; Deep Tissue Massage, Prenatal, hot stones, and sunburn relief treatment, to name a few. We have services to help you relax, cleanse and rejuvenate. Walk-ins are welcome, appointments encouraged! Hanalei Day Spa rivals the Four Seasons and is the best experience on the Island Of Kauai. Extremely professional and polished staff that makes everyone feel like Ohana. Darci must be the best spa owner to work for , anywhere, ever, she was very attentive and accommodating. I give Jessie and Aby the highest scores for the best massages ever and highly recommend the beach side massage. Can’t wait to get back here.

Actually, I went to the four seasons last month. The manager was gracious and gave me a tour, it was a beautiful, large facility. But the spa wouldn't accept my appointment because I was not staying there. We allow anyone to come visit us.
We LOVE our guests and our staff thank you again for your gracious review. Looking forward to seeing you next time!

No matter who you book with you will feel like jelly afterwards! My husband and I with my mom all had beach side massages under the palapa recently and all walked out feeling totally refreshed! The owner Darcy treated my husband whom among all of us is a massage junky and she had some new moves he’s never seen before with deep tissue. My mom and I had a lomi lomi massage and I want more!! My therapist still worked out my kinks in the worst areas while keeping me totally relaxed. These people know their stuff! I’m a retired massage therapist and am very picky! The therapists kept safe covid protocols in place while making sure we all had private time to change or undress for the table. The prices were a little high compared to home but it’s vacation/Hawaii prices and worth it! The only semi negative thing I’d have to say is we had three tables inside the palapa and my mom was furthest in the back and didn’t have the breeze the first two tables had but she also gets hot easily so maybe it was just her?? Maybe opening a vent in the back or having a fan might help. Even that didn’t deter my mom from walking out having no idea where our car was she was so relaxed. Lol. Book in advance cause they book up!!

oooh, I didn't know he was a 'massage junkie' or I would have been nervous, lol
But I'm happy to have impressed you ALL with our skill, moves and safety protocols.
I enjoyed giving the massage, I actually made up a couple of new moves on his back. :) So thank you very much!
Wish I would have known mom gets hot, we do have some ventilation in there, I thought it was sufficient, and I could have provided more for her if I would have known...But all in all it seems like she had a good experience if she was so relaxed she did not know where the car was.
Yes, it's true, prices in Hawaii are high. Just to clarify, we are the only authentic beachside Lomi Hale, and my prices are on the low end compared to the few spas on the island.

I don’t know how I can ever have a massage in the future. They will all truly come short of the experience I had at Hanalei Day Spa. Darci was incredible to book with - super responsive and communicated via text because it was easier due to our planned activities / spotty service. The massage itself was a fantastic experience. Being on the water and hearing the sounds from the ocean during the massage was truly magical. On top of the overall ambiance, I’ve never had a masseuse that addressed my needs as much as Jesse did. I came in with upper back pain that’s been chronic due to consistent computer work. Not only did he alleviate the pain, he also worked on the underlying causes, addressing why he would spend more time on one area and how everything was connected. Highly recommend. This experience was worth every dollar. I only wish I could be a regular!

I would not recommend this place. We paid a very high price for an 80 minute couples massage, the owner, Darci, does a very poor job of explaining the fees for the services. For example, there is an upcharge for a deep tissue massage versus a relaxing massage, but at the time we arrived, there was no explanation of the extra charge for a deep tissue massage. Also, we were offered to have the massage in a hut near the beach, which we accepted, only to find out later that there was another $75 upcharge for the beachside massage.
Darci, will tell you at the end, hey, all the prices are there on the menu… but if you want to avoid that kind of surprise, better to find another place
We had 1 good masseuse and 1 not good masseuse for the couple massage, so the experience certainly didn’t match the price

Many aspects we're exaggerated when we booked by phone and led to disappointment during our visit.
1. Was told if we brought our swimsuits, we could use a beautiful outdoor shower on the beach after our scrub. This 'beautiful shower' was just one of those public beach de-sanding showers and was very cold.
2. Near the beach is a more accurate descriptor than beach side.
3. For prenatal massage, I had the impression there would be a special table with a cutout for baby bump, not a pillow that might still end up with a lot of pressure. It was uncomfortable and ended up giving me a lot of anxiety about whether it was safe.
It was a very strange prenatal massage and made me wonder how qualified their therapists are for that type of massage. Most prenatal massages will move you through a few different positions- each side and then inclined on back. They had a special pillow that supposedly allows you to lay face down, they had me laying facedown the entire time, which was uncomfortable and I'm not sure it was totally safe. Even if the special pillow was safe, breathing into a sheet for 70 minutes was not a comfortable experience.
My husband had a great massage, but I really question if all of their therapists have prenatal massage knowledge or if they think the pillow is a magic bullet.

I am so sorry that you were other than thrilled with your prenatal massage.
I would like to take a moment to address your concerns.
1. So sorry you felt chilly. To most folks coming from the mainland, an outside shower is a novelty and they jump at the opportunity, especially with ambient temperatures usually not getting colder then 75 degrees. As I probably mentioned on the phone, you were more than welcome to shower off in spa as well. I think you did end up showering inside if memory serves.
2. I can understand your feelings about wanting to be EXACTLY on the beach. To our reader, we are very transparent about our location. Please understand that the beach side is steps off the sand, if we were EXACTLY on the beach, it would not be private and it would have been washed away many times over. In fact just two weeks ago we had king tides and the waves actually touched the restaurant next door but because we chose the location intentionally, they did not even go up to our Lomi Hale.
3. I'm not sure if you expressed your concerns to your massage therapists but they are all trained in prenatal massage. We have seen many guests even to full term using the Body Support System.
In closing, to our potential guests and to you, I guess we cannot please everyone 100% of the time although we do try though.
We also do rely on guests to communicate their needs to us so that we can help them. We would have been more than happy to help you in any way we could have.

I booked a $500 couples massage way in advance of our trip and needed a specific time. My appointment was moved from
3pm to 3:30pm and then to 4:30pm — which I have never experienced in all the years of getting massages, and with NO EXPLANATION and NO CONSIDERATION for our time and trip itinerary. Darci the owner was also NOT pleasant to deal with so customer experience was HORRIBLE. I do not recommend this place.

I can understand feeling disappointed but we do provide notification that we may need to change. Due to covid we have had an employee shortage, I have heard it is the case on the mainland as well. We also had an employee out due to a death in the family. This made scheduling a challenge in September.
In addition, after setting an appointment, each guest receives an email notifying them that we may need to make changes, etc. "Thank you for your appointment request ...[Important] We may need to adjust/ make changes to your appointment. Expect a call or text from us to confirm the details..."
Even though this person was unhappy, In my humble opinion, I think I handled the unprecedented situation with professionalism by providing advanced notification and that most of our guests, save one, was happy.

Darci and her staff were INCREDIBLE!! I’ve never had a massage that perfect! Abi has magic hands and applied perfect pressure while being sure to massage every muscle. He was so talented and gave me by far, the VERY BEST massage of my life and I have had more than 40 massages! My daughter had Temple and she also said the massage by him was the best she’d ever had! Great experience, great staff and an amazing owner who cares about you and your relaxing massage experience. I highly recommend the Lohi Lohi Hawaiian massage at this spa!!

Darci was very professional and inviting when I arrived, and Javier (massage therapist) provided an excellent massage. Javier found knots that I didn't even know I had and checked in with me along the way regarding the pressure that he applied. I thoroughly enjoyed my 50-minute deep tissue massage with hot rocks! I heard and felt the ocean breezes while on the massage table which was very relaxing, and the surroundings were very clean. One suggestion for improvement would be to have relaxing spa music playing in the room. Otherwise, I highly recommend!

Beach-side couples massage (Hawaiian Lomi lomi style) was wonderful. Ocean breezes and the sound of surf made Hanalei Day Spa’s traditional thatched roof “lomi hale” an ideal place to relax. The staff therapists were skilled; they listened to us and then gave us what we needed to unwind. Many thanks to everyone!

Hanalei Day Spa was one of our favorite experiences on our honeymoon. We were staying at the Hanalei Colony Resort and they are so conveniently located right next to one another. The owner Darcy is very responsive, personable, and professional. We did a basic couples massage beachside and this is one of the best massages I have ever received! This was my husband’s first massage and now I’m afraid he’s spoiled forever! Hearing the waves on the beach, while having the privacy of a beautiful outdoor spa space was such a unique experience. The masseuses were excellent, professional, and we were overwhelmingly relaxed afterwards. We would highly recommend getting a massage at the Hanalei Day Spa and hope to come back for anniversaries in the future!

We jut LOVE pampering our couples!
And thank you for your gracious compliments and for sharing your experience with the world. It helps us since we've been closed the greater part of 3 years due to a flood and the travel shutdowns.
One of the (many) great things about re-opening is connecting with our guests, some of whom haven't had much contact much less massage in over a year.
We are truly touched by the graciousness of our guests!

Prices are all on the services page of their website: hanaleidayspa . com. Looks like they have a 50 minute option for $110, plus $20 to add beachside.
Personally, we like to go all out here and do the Royal Couple option which is 110 minutes beachside and includes a glorious hot coconut oil hair and scalp treatment. Spaaaaaaaahhhhh.... Enjoy!
