The manager was gracious and gave me a tour, it was a beautiful, large facility. But the spa wouldn't accept my appointment because I was not staying there. We allow anyone to come visit us. It was our pleasure to have you and do beachside massages for you guys and mom! oooh, I didn't know he was a 'massage junkie' or I would have been nervous, lol But I'm happy to have impressed you ALL with our skill, moves and safety protocols. I enjoyed giving the massage, I actually made up a couple of new moves on his back. :) So thank you very much! Wish I would have known mom gets hot, we do have some ventilation in there, I thought it was sufficient, and I could have provided more for her if I would have known...But all in all it seems like she had a good experience if she was so relaxed she did not know where the car was. Yes, it's true, prices in Hawaii are high. Just to clarify, we are the only authentic beachside Lomi Hale, and my prices are on the low end compared to the few spas on the island. Aloha there, I am so sorry that you were other than thrilled with your prenatal massage. I would like to take a moment to address your concerns. 1. So sorry you felt chilly. To most folks coming from the mainland, an outside shower is a novelty and they jump at the opportunity, especially with ambient temperatures usually not getting colder then 75 degrees. As I probably mentioned on the phone, you were more than welcome to shower off in spa as well. I think you did end up showering inside if memory serves. 2. I can understand your feelings about wanting to be EXACTLY on the beach. To our reader, we are very transparent about our location. Please understand that the beach side is steps off the sand, if we were EXACTLY on the beach, it would not be private and it would have been washed away many times over. In fact just two weeks ago we had king tides and the waves actually touched the restaurant next door but because we chose the location intentionally, they did not even go up to our Lomi Hale. 3. I'm not sure if you expressed your concerns to your massage therapists but they are all trained in prenatal massage. We have seen many guests even to full term using the Body Support System. In closing, to our potential guests and to you, I guess we cannot please everyone 100% of the time although we do try though. We also do rely on guests to communicate their needs to us so that we can help them. We would have been more than happy to help you in any way we could have. I can understand feeling disappointed but we do provide notification that we may need to change. Due to covid we have had an employee shortage, I have heard it is the case on the mainland as well. We also had an employee out due to a death in the family. This made scheduling a challenge in September. In addition, after setting an appointment, each guest receives an email notifying them that we may need to make changes, etc. "Thank you for your appointment request ...[Important] We may need to adjust/ make changes to your appointment. Expect a call or text from us to confirm the details..." Even though this person was unhappy, In my humble opinion, I think I handled the unprecedented situation with professionalism by providing advanced notification and that most of our guests, save one, was happy.

Aloha, This is Darci. Thank you so much for visiting us on your honeymoon. We jut LOVE pampering our couples! And thank you for your gracious compliments and for sharing your experience with the world. It helps us since we've been closed the greater part of 3 years due to a flood and the travel shutdowns. One of the (many) great things about re-opening is connecting with our guests, some of whom haven't had much contact much less massage in over a year.
