We booked a private four hour fishing charter with Darrin at Nemesis Sport Fishing. He is super nice guy, but it just seemed like no effort was put into the trip. My group and I showed up at 11:30 to start the charter and Darrin done a great job going over rules and techniques for the boat and fishing. The wind was blowing a hundred miles an hour so we asked if it was going to be too rough to fish today and Darrin replied "no" so we hit the water. Needless to say we got ROCKED the entire time, obviously Darrin can not control the wind nor what the water is doing but I would say it was absolutely way to rough to be fishing that day.

I fished on the Nemesis on Jan. 24th. I asked the captain for a shared trip as I didn't want to pay a 4 hour private charter myself. He indicated he had another guy lined up for the day I wanted to go. Showed up the morning of the trip and the captain said the guy bailed and I have to pay for the private charter, not sure if he was telling the truth about the whor not. 4 hours later had caught 2 small bait sized tuna we towed around to try catching a marlin he likely caught the day before, was patient dealing with an argument between the captain and his help on how to tie a worm bait.. Have been on several other charters, fish in the boat or not that were worth it. This was not.

WOW!!! This is THE sportfishing charter to hire on Kauai. Skipper Auger and ship's first mate Alistair are all business and make the fishing experience worthwhile and fun. We hooked and caught marlin, yellowfin, and dorado, the 60 pound tuna being the largest- my largest fish ever. My wife and I sailed on the smaller of his two boats, a 33 footer, that's fast, comfortable, and with a great chair. We'll do another six-hour charter next time we're in Kauai. Gary B. From the moment we stepped foot on the boat it was nothing but exceptional service, darrin makes very clear the do’s and donts on his boat and teaches inexperienced anglers how to use his gear properly so everyone has a great day on the water, he’s extremely well knowledgeable in fishing around the islands and has tonnes of local knowledge. Alastar, the deckhand is one of the best I’ve seen, works hard, keeps the boat and deck clean and free of lures, and keeps everyone company when the bite is slow. The boat Is spotless and the gear is all very high end, I wouldn’t think for a second to recommend these guys to everyone i know. I will for sure be back.

One of the best boats in the harbor all top rate, clean and fast. This captain and crew have been fishing from when they were kids and it’s pretty clear they have a passion for the sport. The type of people that take pride in landing fish, from the start they give you some training on the boat and chair, how to work a big fish, all the equipment is new, nice a dialed in to find and land fish. They also understand it’s about having fun, they will do their job if you do yours - for us we landed 4 Mahi Mahi, had two on that that in un-hooked, a dubbed and at least 3 that hit and missed. Then hooked and Marlin that we also lost - for us a new fishing couple it was a blast and we learned lots of things not to do - lol. The full time everyone had fun and kept the excitement going with big smiles - that’s all you can ask for in a day on the water. Thanks Darrin and Mini we will be back!
