Bubbles Below Mission Statement: Inspiring Divers to care about the marine world through encounters, education and natural curiosity. We are committed to sustaining the character and the reef residents of our many dive sites. Join us sharing water with the 350 pound Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles , White Tip Reef Sharks napping the dy away for nighttime play, octopi and eels among the thousands of ornamental fish. The habitat for our marine life is Kauai’s geological history. The fantastic topography we find while diving old sea caves eroded by wave action millions of years ago creates wondrous habitats.Let's create those underwater memories to share with loved ones! We offer Boat diving for everyone from the most beginner to the experienced. We try to accommodate a personalized dive schedule for you and your family. Every charter is led by a naturalist and is a marine ecology underwater tour!

We walked into the storefront while exploring the local community and didn’t know much about this dive shop, all we knew is that we wanted a couple of dives while visiting. First impressions were that the owners were knowledgeable and they maintain their gear very well- it is the most important thing for us. They also dive based on air and not time, because for those of us who who have gills this is a selling point. They just so happened to have two spots on the day we needed which was very handy so we booked.
We usually travel with all our own gear because of bad experiences and not trusting rentals, but for this trip we didn’t bring our BCD’s or wetsuits so had to rent. Their BCD is practically brand new and their other gear isn’t cheap “for tourists” stuff. I would totally rent all the gear next time and not bring our own. We trust their equipment.
This company is one of the safest and most environmental conscientious companies we’ve had the pleasure of diving with. The safety briefing was done on shore and at the dive sites so there was no issue with misunderstandings or people not knowing what to expect. They don’t want accidents or injuries and it shows, their customers really do come first.
The staff were very organized and also ensured that the correct experience levels were together. We had two fantastic dives as will definitely contact them again the next time we’re on Kauai.

We went on the morning 2 tank dive and were very happy with the quality of the rental equipment, the professional safety briefing and the care the team took to ensure everyone was safe, informed,and comfortable, and there was a fun vibe on the boat. From the first communication Blondie was responsive and helpful, answering all my questions and taking time in the phone with me. The whole crew was both professional, experienced, and friendly. They kept the diver to divemaster ratio reasonable (5 divers with 1 divemaster and another group of 4:1). We saw a ton of wildlife and had a fantastic time!! I’ll dive with them next time I’m on Kauai, 100%!!

The trip to Ni'ihau was extraordinary. Everything about Bubbles Below staff is exceptional: from the information and communication before the trip, to the execution of it. Captain Clay has decades of experience traveling to and guiding trips to Ni'ihau. Aside from the jokes he shares (have you met a boat captain that doesn't share their jokes), he is a master of the boat and the trip through the challenging waters between Kauai and Ni'ihau. And when it gets to the dives, the briefings are detailed, comprehensive and grounded in your safety as a guest and a diver. The rest of the crew - Jake and Mercedes - are real pros. Great divemasters and they are all together an amazing crew.
And last but not least. The captain and the dive masters chose the dive sites and let us through the most beautiful, exciting, amazing, inspiring, an exceptional views of those sites.

Bubbles Below came recommended from some personal contacts, and didn't disappoint. What's most immediately obvious is that they all love the ocean, and love sharing it with visitors. Clay would clearly rather be no other place than at the helm of his dive boat out on the water, and it makes for a great atmosphere.
We came with a group of friends, all but one relatively new divers, and kind of hoped for a bit more hand-holding to stay safe and on-track. Manny was absolutely the perfect dive master for the group. He was super excited to show off all his favorite spots on the reef, had awesome communication above and below the surface, and did a perfect job treating us like a dive tour while keeping a watchful eye as if we were students, which made the whole experience comfortable and confidence-inspiring. I think Manny would make a great elementary school teacher if they taught that underwater, but I'm sure even the most seasoned instructor would enjoy diving with this crew.
The boat only holds like 6 divers, so it's a really great, personal experience.

This is my 2nd trip with Bubbles Below. The operation is run by Blondie and her husband Clay. They are superb operators and really know their stuff. This dive was a really rough/rainy day, but we went out a gutted it out. I had a young man as a dive master who really made the dive worth while. While the conditions were tough, we really had an excellent dive and saw white tip sharks, large 300 lb turtle, lots of micro stuff and some nudibranchs. We both had strong lights and that really helped. Kauai is a magical place and after 1000 plus world wide dives, I can offer an unhesitating recommendation of Clay, Blondie and staff. A+++

Of all the dive shops I've dove with so far, Bubbles Below has been one of my absolute favorite shops. Every single person you interact with amongst this crew is simply amazing. Clay is super knowledgeable and you learn so much from him about Kauai and all the local dive spots. I really appreciate how he practices and you feel really safe diving with him and his crew.
Jake was a great divemaster to work with. He's always smiling and you can really tell he enjoys what he does. I'd definitely return to dive with them again!

Blondy, Captain Clay and Dive Master Jake prepared a great meal for us, had a “ship shape dive boat”, and took us to the best spot they could for the day (given the conditions).
Unfortunately it was windy, big waves, and blown out that day - but boat captains can’t control the weather!
Despite the rough water, we saw a lot of fish and sea turtles near salt ponds.
Bubbles Below is a great dive operation and we look forward to meeting back up with them on a calmer day.

Absolutely fantastic experiences on multi-day dives! Small boats offer more intimate interacting with crew and dive masters. Dive masters' knowledge of sights is unparalleled. Their ability to optimize equipment fits and trim under water is top-notch.

My entire experience with Bubbles Below, from booking to the end of dive, was wonderful. This was was my third dive after getting certified and my first boat dive. Blondy was extremely helpful in getting the dive planned, Clay gave a very thorough dive briefing, and Manny, the dive master, had an absolutely amazing amount of knowledge on marine life and the names of the fish we saw on the dives. Throughout the dive there were many jokes shared and lots of interesting stories about Kauai - I learned so much.
Aside from all the great technical and informational qualities of the dive, this is a really great group of people. You can tell they genuienely care about everyone having a good experience. I cannot recommend them enough!

We did four local dives with Captain Clay and Jake. Our dives were incredible. Blondy was excellent replying to me via email and taking time to answer all of my questions. The equipment was also great, especially the integrated weight BCDs and dive computers on the regulators. The crew took care of everything from start to finish. All three are awesome people! Thank you Jake for finding all of the wonderful sea creatures for us! Dawn, Todd and Gabe

Where do you leave from for the Mana Crack/Napali dive? How long is the boat ride and how smooth/bumpy is it? How long is the complete tour?

All of the charters leave out of Port Allen Small Boat Harbor on the southwest side of the island. The ride out to the first divesite is about an hour and 15-30 min, the ride home is about 2 hours. The charter meets at 6:30 getting back around 2-3 depending if you do 2 or 3 tanks on the Mana Crack. As far as how smooth/bumpy the ride is all depends on the weather. We get a weather forecast 4 days in advance which can tell us a lot more about what the ocean will be doing. This tour is of course a weather dependent charter, we do reserve the right to cancel due to safety at any point BUT we really do try to give you options/advance notice as much as possible. Must respect the ocean/weather gods. Hope this helps! Happy diving!

I've been told that the Niihau dive trip is only for advanced drift divers. I've done a number of drift dives, but nothing in very strong current. Do you think it would be OK for me to book this trip?

The dives do not have to be drift dives. All 3 of our dives were down a line.
