Beautiful sunset
Oct 2021 • Couples
Location was amazing! Beautiful sunset. Excellent entertainment. Food was delicious. All of the seats were great but we paid for the premium seating which is well worth the extra money if you're able to do it.

Table for two up front
Jul 2021
Perfect! Especially for someone who has never been to a luau before. Everyone was hospitable. Doing the seating upgrade was definitely a plus. We had a table of two to ourselves.

Lovely luau
Aug 2021
Went to this luau last week. This was my second luau, went to one in Honolulu years ago. This was smaller, not sure if due to covid or just smaller in general. Therefore, not that many dancers. Also, it rained a bit. They got dinner in and then the rain started just before the show. They gave ponchos to everyone. We had seen that rain was a possibility and had our rain jackets. It wasn't a hard rain and eventually let up so they improvised and continued the show. The emcee was pretty honest initially and said they weren't sure what they were going to do with regards to the show but they waited a while and as I said, it wasn't too bad so they started the show. I thought it was pretty brief, not sure if they scaled it back due to the weather or not. The fire dancer was cool as always. My daughters, who had never been to a luau and were excited for the show were pleased. The food was good. Yes, its mass produced but it had good flavor and there was a good amount of food. You are served salad and bread at your table. Also some "appetizers" of lomi lomi, poi, and poke are served to the table. For the main plate you stand in line and get a fully prepared plate that had pork, beef, fish, chicken, potato, rice, bok choy. (I preferred that to waiting on a serve yourself buffet). Then they bring out a dessert platter to the table. Of course there was an open bar, the drinks were strong enough but was cheaper brands of liqour. All in all, we had a good time, despite the rain. Was it worth it for the price? Depends on you, I knew it was going to be mass produced food and cheap drinks and questionable show quality and that is was going to be expensive. Not to say I had low expectations, but I knew what I was getting into. I think this luau exceeded my expectations, I had a lovely time, and my kids enjoyed it, so in my book, it was worth it

Disappointing
Aug 2021
Very disappointed in this luau, as I had high expectations given I have attended three other excellent Hawaiian luaus. Food was only average quality (did really enjoy the farm-to-table salad though) and the cocktails were sickeningly sweet. The dancing was very good, but the fire show (which is what I was waiting for ALL night) was amazing but super short (shorter than all my other luaus). My main complaint was that the women’s bathroom was smelly and not well-maintained throughout the night (given all the cocktails, it was in very frequent use! ). Would not come again.

Somehow sexual, bland, and Christian
Aug 2021 • Family
I completely agree with Dallas below me. Unimpressive - strip-tease, overly sexual (there were pretty much only families on the audience?), and the food was mediocre. And what was particularly insane to me, was at the beginning of the luau, after the first song to get everyone pumped, the MC went up and said “before we begin, I’d like everyone to join me in prayer. Dear Almighty Father…” and led everyone in a Christian prayer, complete with “Amen”.

Now, obviously in all likelihood the vast majority of the audience is Christian, flying in from Minnesota, whatever. But what if he said “Before we begin, I’d like to point out the direction of Mecca and we will lead a prayer to Allah”. People would lose it! I am not a Christian and I was immediately astounded at the ballsiness it took. I know the Marriott is largely owned by LDS, but come on.

Additionally, considering a luau is theoretically supposed to be honoring and celebrating the history of pre-colonial Hawaii and the Pacific, complete with songs and dances honoring traditions and belief systems of Hawaii, the introduction and forcing of a Christian prayer before seriously going on to celebrate the history of Hawaii - which was objectively destroyed by largely-Christian people (Molokai, anyone?) - is at best, tactless.

Mass produced and not very special
Jul 2021
I have attended several Luau's in Hawaii. this one was by far the worst. The show was nearly nonexistent and frankly felt more like a male review show for the ladies given the "strip-tease" like moves of the male dancers (so bachelorette parties may want to attend!) . But overall, the show was lame. It lacked all of the usual excitement of a great show. The food was mediocre but fine. There was not large pig brought out it was all pre-prepared and served at the table. The bar was the usual combination of undrinkable wines and rail liquor. for $100+ per person a better show and a more top shelf drink menu would be expected.

Amazing Luau
Jul 2021 • Couples
This is the only Luau I have been to but it was well worth the money. We had premier seats which were awesome. The food was really good. That was a bonus b/c so many people complain about luau food being mediocre. The performances were truly impressive and the sunset in the background was perfect. As a "must do" when visiting, I strongly recommend this Luau.

OK show and subpar food
Jun 2021
I'll start by saying that everyone has a different perspective. For reference, we travel a lot and have seen numerous entertainment shows at different resorts. The show was OK. The setting was lovely and our table was close to stage (we had premium seats). The host was entertaining and dancers did a good job. However, it was just average. For those who haven't seen many shows, this may seem great. As for the food, it was also subpar. The different kinds of pork and fish were all over-cooked to an extremely dry texture. There were 7 of us in our party and everyone had the same comment about over-dried meat and fish. The cocktails were good. Overall, we all had a good time, the kids enjoyed themselves. We made the best of it.

If in doubt, book this
Jun 2021
The luau totally blew away my expectations: The show was really interesting, with great dancing and music; the food was good, and the drinks were great! Really appreciate the distancing, the hospitality of the servers, and I had the best view of a sunset (postcard perfect) of my whole trip. I recommend arriving earlier than you expect as there are two lines -- one at the coffee shop and then one outside the event space to get in.
