We took in a comedy/magic show at Kozy's Tiki Palace; by day an art gallery; by night a Las Vegas caliber magic & comedy show in an intimate (up to ~30 people) environment. Kozy, who has TV credentials too numerous to list here, and his "able-bodied assistant" welcome you, and invite participation without pressure or embarrassment. It's well over an hour of continuous mentalist, sleight of hand, and laughs. If you think the Mauna Lani- Waikoloa area was just beaches, food, and art galleries...think again.

Although I see some reviewers complaining many stores here are closed ,we very much appreciated having this shopping center just down the street when we stayed at Mauna Lani Point. My daughter and I enjoyed poking around the beachwear shops and grabbed her some flip flops. But the biggest draw was definitely the Foodland. Really solid selection of products, whether you want to pick up prepared foods or ingredients to cook at home, and staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. They made every trip to the store A+. And we loved the selection of local products, esp. the chocolate and dried fruit.

The host at the free hula and fire show is very rude. She was disrespectful to one of the dancers. She pushed a dancer in front of everyone. The audience watching felt awkward while watching her treat the dancers unkindly. After the show, I witnessed the host being mean to one of the tourists. The tourist asked for a picture with the dancers, she brushed off the tourist saying that she didn't want to take the picture. So another tourist that witnessed the same incident stepped-in to take the picture. This show needs a new host.

We mainly went here for the grocery store -- at least once per day! This is a well equipped store with everything a tourist wants -- lots of grab and go food, pre-packaged snacks, beer, wine, and friendly staff. Give them a phone number right off the bat when checking in and you become a "valued customer" -- the prices are often 1/3 cheaper with this little step. They also give coupons with enough purchases for 5% off the next purchase, etc. They are very happy if you bring bags back and re-use them. This place is perfect if you have rented a condo or doing some of your own cooking. Parking stalls are very tight!

We tried Waikoloa Market, very high prices and poor quality fruits and fish. We tried Island Gourmet at Queens Market, ditto.

A local recommended Foodland Farms at Mauna Lani. We were staying at Waikoloa Resort so this became a daily stop after the beach to pick up fresh fish, fruit, and vegetables (and wine). They have a dynamite bakery if one is so inclined. We grilled at our condo BBQ 6/10nights and enjoyed the most awesome ono, opakapaka, mong chung and mahi mahi. Saved a ton on food. Sure wish we could get all those fresh at home!

The prices and quality were the best we found without having to drive to Kona or Waimea. If you sign up for their club card (just put in your phone #), you get all the savings.

The free Luau show is great at The Shops. Plenty of seating for every one. The music was great, the MC lady did well and the dancers were wonderful. We bought snacks at the grocery store there.

Very pleasant, clean mall with a good grocery store. Parking is plentiful, lots of places to eat. The best part of this mall is the free Luau show run twice per week, Monday's and Thursdays, there is no reason not to come here on those days and have a browse before or after the show.

I love shopping, especially while vacationing, but this shopping area has nothing to offer. A few shops here and there but most shops were empty.

Compared to the other shopping centers nearby (Kings Shops and Queens Marketplace), this one simply does not have the same caliber or amount of stores. We have been to this mall a few times on previous trips and it seems like each time we come, there's less and less stores. Generally, the only time we stop here is when we need to purchase groceries from Foodland (which is fantastic, by the way). Foodland is smaller but the prices are much more reasonable than the grocery store at the Queens.

Tonight, my family and I went to watch the free hula show that many people have mentioned in other reviews. They are all correct as the show was better than most Luau's we've seen but after it ended, my grandson wanted an ice cream cone. Alas, that somehow is not possible here. Seriously, there is no place to purchase a scoop of ice cream at this mall. That might not sound like a big deal but this is Hawaii after all.

Also, there are only expensive dining options here. Unlike the Queens, there is no food court. This place really needs a cheap and quick pizza/burger restaurant.

Thank you for your review. Since your visit, we now have Juice 101 open most show nights (Monday and Thursday) and they do serve Ice Cream, Smoothies and other foods and snacks at a reasonable price. Foodland is open late every night and they do have dessert items as well for a snack after (or before) the show. We hope you'll visit us again on your next trip to the island and see some of the new stores that we've added.

We stayed at the Mauna Lani resort and took other posters' advice to stop by the Foodland Farms at the Shops at Mauna Lani for breakfast food. We were pleasantly surprised by their bakery selection, and their prices on souvenirs was lower than anywhere on the island - even Walmart! We even came by for ice cream one evening.

On Monday, we ate dinner at Ruth's Chris, requesting a table overlooking the hula show. It was tremendous! A great option for people who want to see a native show without the outrageous luau prices. I came for the free lei making on Monday and left with a beautiful pink and white plumeria lei (it was way easier than I expected! The class was about 40 minutes and was half kids and half adults). They also offer basketweaving on Thursdays and other free events during the week. Can't beat that! Especially on the pricey Kohala coast.
