    Convenient if you’re around
Send many of our Airbnb guests here.We Used to run a wine store in Waikiki so where used to better wine, wine here could use some improvement and some of the employees can be flamboyant , and one is very Karen like , which is fine if that’s your thing! Personally I’m tired of all the fruits who come here. I might come back, who knows. Have fun, don’t forget to leave 5 stars if you stay at the house! Written by, Buddie, Everett Milstead

    Fun time!
Stopped at this winery with my brother and sister after visiting Volcano National Park. Was a truly wonderful and fun time sampling the "Flight" of various wines. Cost was $15 for sampling 7 wines and was well worth it and the time spent there, probably about an hour! Our favorite wine was the Macadamia Nut Honey Mead. Brianna, our hostess, was awesome describing the various wines and parings, incredible interpersonal skills and really made the stop special! Would not hesitate to revisit on our next trip to "The Big Island".

    Volcano Winery Tour
The winery tour was very informative on what they do. A lot of interesting projects they are working on in different directions. They do have a difficult time growing grapes. Most of their vintages are imported from the mail land, but its what they do with them that are interesting. Do the full tastings, it will be a surprise.

I try to stop at wineries wherever my travels take me. Really loved this small winery - great staff and for $12 you can have 6 tastings . Two of the choices are meads. I would say overall their wines are on the sweeter side and would be great with desserts. My son, more a beer drinker, enjoyed for that quality as they aren’t harsh on the palate for those non hardcore wine lovers. Their Volcano Red would be a fabulous holiday wine! They have some local artwork displayed of volcano eruptions and we are going back today to look to purchase something that looks like what we saw. Great side trip while in the area!

Given the novelty of this winery, we had to give it a try! The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines, and it only cost $12 for 8 tastings.

The atmosphere was very cozy, and we were surprised by how much room there was inside. The tasting flight included their Symphony Dry, Pinot Noir, Volcano Red, Symphone Mele, Volcano Blush, Hawaiian Guava-Grape, Macadamia Nut Honey Wine, and Infusion Tea Wine. I loved the flavors of local fruits (such as jaboticaba) in some of these wines, but I wasn't a fan of the Infusion Tea Wine. In general, these wines run sweeter, not dry. After our tasting, my husband and I each enjoyed a glass on the patio, along with a cracker & cheese tray.

Great place to kick back and relax over a glass of wine!

The winery stop was. I thing to write home about The wines are mostly made from grapes and juice brought over from California. Believe it or not they are high enough for them to get frost which hurts their grape production The people could have been friendlier There is a little grocery mart in volcano we bought a good $9 bottle of wine and watched the sunset with that

The staff is great and the setting is pleasant. We enjoyed a standard tasting and it appears the owners are seriously trying to make good wines. Most of the varieties we tasted were on the sweet side, and none were great, but it was really interesting to see what they are trying to do.

Great wine tasting experience! We made a reservation, which they recommend and had a fantastic time tasting 8 different locally made wines. The cheese was also amazing. The winery itself is very quaint and happened to be walking distance to our Airbnb which was an unexpected bonus. We recommend stopping here if you're in Volcano!

We stopped here just before 11 am and we were the only group. Our hostess was Zasha, quite friendly and very enthused about the wines. We did the Classic wine tasting as a flight: pinot noir, volcano red blend, guava grape, mac nut honey, and infusion tea wine.

The pinot noir is not like the Oregon or CA pinot noir. Quite a bit lighter. We found the red blend is delightful. While the fruit wines were a bit on the sweet side, we really liked the guava grape - would be good with some spicy Thai curry dish. The mac nut definitely was honey forward. The tea wine had too much black tea essence. It was not our favorite. We definitely kept an open mind, tried not to compare wines against WA, OR, CA wines. Felt it was good to try different things.

One person in the group also did the tea tasting. $5 was a bit steep for 2 very small thimble cups of tea. Novelty.

The area is beautiful with clean restrooms. Tasting room has amazing photography of the area. A lot of items for purchase, even Kona coffee. Definitely worth the stop, especially passing through to the park or even a day drive back to Kona from Hilo.

I really felt let down on my visit to VW. The server was nice, knowledgeable and attentive however, I didn't feel the experience or product was worth the visit. My wife and I did a pairing with the optional cheese and crackers. The cheese and crackers were closely similar to any spreadable cheese from the supermarket and the crackers were simple, Ritz crackers.

Secondly, the wine was meh, at best. I was highly disappointed that there was no estate wine available. None for tasting, none for purchase, I don't even think there was a bottle on display. I was told that estate wine releases usually get gobbled up by club members, understandably so, but still disappointing. The wines we tasted were mediocre, at best. Mostly sweeter wines with little to no complexity. I think the best thing we tasted were surprisingly the meads. I'm not much of a fan of meads but I will argue these were some of the best I've tasted.

Lastly, the service. Again, the server was great and did a phenomenal job explaining the wines and was even better at pairing recommendations.

We had a wonderful stop at the Volcano Winery where we took advantage of the wine tasting. What a special treat. The staff was so welcoming and nice to every visitor. We recommend taking home Volcano Red but there are many other wines that we quite tasty. The winery is beautiful and the view is to die for.

After a days hiking the crater in Volcano National Park we stopped here for a wonderful wine tasting. Our server was amazing and she did a great job explaining the wines, grapes and more. I would highly recommend if you are a wine enthusiast!
