We had a great experience and awesome tour guide! Got as close as possible to lava. Hike wasn't as difficult as first thought it might be..

Seeing a lava flow was one of our main to do's while visiting Big island. We did not know what to expect when we arrived as the flow can be unpredictable; what we ended up seeing was truly indescribable. This family run tour makes you feel like one of their own as you are guided to the lava field hearing... More

Loved seeing the volcano crater. This is a must see on the Island! We went to the museum and saw all the lava rocks plus read the history of the volcano.

Best lava boat tour ever. Ikaiki and Andrew the best guides with lots of information. Got as close as 20 feet to the lava into the ocean. Amazing tour I would recommend as a must do if you come to the Big Island.

We were guided to the lava on July 12, 2016 and it was awesome. Our guides were long time locals from the area and shared lots of the history of the land, lava, and people. They went at a comfortable pace for us and showed us some of the most powerful and awe inspiring sites we have ever seen. Having... More

My wife and I visited the lava flow on an afternoon and evening in early August, 2016. The hike is pretty easy, in part because they drive you in vans part of the way up to the lava fields. It’s still a long walk from there, but most of it is on a gravel road with a lot of pedestrians... More

First, it is awesome to stand on hot rocks and see red lava peeking beneath your feet as it is oozing across the landscape and breaking out four feet away. It is almost as though the earth is breathing under your feet. Without a doubt, it is among the most powerful experiences of my travel history. With that being said:... More

Yes, going with a guide is worth it in so many ways, and I'm glad that you agree! It is no walk in the park, but most anyone can handle it with an expert native Kalapana Hawaiian guide. Mahalo for joining us! Aloha! More

I was told about this by some locals and decided to try it. Boy, that was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was about a 6 mile roundtrip but it was so much fun that it didn't even feel like it. Take water and a hat that won't blow off your head and enjoy one of... More

We did this tour during a week long trip to the big island and can easily say that this was the highlight of the week. Ikaika was our amazing tour guide, he knew the land- was able to tell us all of the history of the volacano, recent flows, and was a hoot. Would definitely reccomend wearing sturdy sneaker/hiking boots... More
