I have seen a lot of caves in my life and this one wasn't that special. But the guide was a source of knowledge and a great comedian. Only the way he was, was worth that visit.

First off, Gary was a blast. Hands down he is really great. My friend and I did the two hour (three hour) tour. Originally we were planning on just doing the shorter tour instead of the longer one, we're very glad that we did the...More

Spent a week in the Big Island with friends and family and had the chance to tour the caverns at Kula Kai. Amazing and so worth the drive down the South Coast. Scenery down the coast was beautiful although the road is quite winding so...More

We went for the 2 hours tour at 2pm. We were abit worried initially due to the volcanic eruption happened earlier this year and after shocks. Also because the lava tube was closed in the national park. But the tour guide (a Dutch and Chinese...More

With my husband, we took the "crawling tour" and we really had an amazing experience! Gary showed us this incredible place and his passion for the cave! It wouldn't have been the same experience without him, that's sure! A must do if you're near this...More

This was our second visit to Kula Kai Caverns. Three summers ago, we did the 30 min tour because my son was 8. At the time, he wanted to keep going further. I promised him, we will come back one day. I kept that promise!...More

We were fortunate to learn about Kula Kai Caverns after running into one of the guides at dinner in Ocean View. We were able to book a last minute three hour tour for the next morning. Our guide, Gary, is obviously passionate about the caverns...More

There is a road that goes to a certain point. After that you will have to either hike or May a nominal fee to catch a ride in the back of a pickup with the locals offer g service there

Not very narrow at all unless you are doing the crawl tour and decide to go that way. In the two hour tour you only crawl once so just depends if you prefer to crawl or mostly walk.

I think it was $15 per person for the shorter tour we did. The best thing to do is give them a call to double check.
