Really nice place, top quality gear, guide and people at the shop. Dylan was awesome taking my phone reservation, and Ali'i was a fantastic guide, he hauled all our gear for us, slowed us down kayaking across the bay so we could see the spinner dolphins, let us snorkel as long as we wanted, and was very respectful and knowledgeable... We went on a kayaking/snorkeling adventure with Kona Boys to Captain Cook's Monument and they did a fantastic job. John gave us a very thorough orientation and good directions at the cool Kona Boys store. Tyler was our guide, and he gave us lots of great historical and cultural info on the area. Kayaking across the beautiful Kealakekua Bay to... More

We did the kayaking to and from the Captain Cookj monument and my wife did some snorkelling. Dylan did show us the basics of kayaking. He did not seem very engaged with us two and kept a good distance from us expecially on return journey when it got a bit rough mid way.and he was cllose to the surf area... More

Did the 7am kayak and snorkel to captain cook. Kona boys have a permit to actually land the kayaks on the point. This is a big deal because without a permit you have to tether the kayak to your person while you dodge the snorkel crowds. I think one or two other groups have this permit as well. 6 people... The four of us had a blast doing this tour. Our guide (Mike) took us out sea kayaking to swim with dolphins, then taught us how to paddle board, and finished by taking us snorkeling. He was humorous, knowledgeable, and very down to Earth. I definitely recommend this tour with this company for all experience levels.

We had a terrific time snorkeling and kayaking with Kona Boys (Ali'i as our guide). We are a cautious family, but all like the water. My twin daughters (age 11) had never been snorkeling, so we decided to start at the Kona Boys location at King Kamehameha Kona Beach, where you can walk into shallow water and test out the... More

What a fantastic day we had kayaking and snorkeling with Kona Boys. Chance and Ali'i were phenomenal in "herding" a dozen kayakers, ranging in age from young children to retirees, including a family from Germany, across the bay - letting us watch dolphins play along the way - to the Cook Memorial where we were able to beach the kayaks... The amount of fish and coral reefs that you are almost guaranteed to see is incredible! We also saw spinner dolphins! We would recommend having surf shoes because there are a lot of risks of injury on slippery rocks.

If you are on the big island of Hawaii and want to have a great start to a beautiful day contact Laura at Kona Boys and book a morning kayak snorkeling tour. There is nothing like seeing dolphins jumping and spinning out of the water as you paddle across Kealakekua Bay. If you are lucky Ali’i (sorry if we spelled... More
