We visited the Volcano Winery in 2022 so this time we decided to give another place a shot in this area rather than repeat the same one all over again!
This is located in a pretty easy short walking distance actually - especially easy distance from Hilo or from the Volcanos NP - it's a bit off a beaten path but worth the visit.
The meads actually vary greatly - it was fun to try them, some a bit too sweat for me but others were pretty cool and I could see myself drinking them on a regular basis as an alternative to beer or wine, in particular! The owner (I assume was the person we have been helped by) was super nice, informative and made the entire experience great!
Prices are pretty low/affordable so you can try quite a few - portions are pretty generous so make sure to control your % :)
This is definitely something different and I can see how Big Island is super busy with all the attractions and this gets under noticed... but if you are here for the 2nd time, like we did you will want to repeat some great places and try the new ones as well!

What a wonderful find! We stopped in on a Tuesday just after 4pm and had the loveliest experience chatting with the owners and sampling their phenomenal mead. We tried 4 different kinds including the semi-sweet traditional, the traditional dry and 2 seasonal varieties -- a ginger semi sweet and the "not toddy" which is a hot variety. They were all wonderful and at $1.50 per sample (1.5oz) they were incredibly affordable. The "not toddy" was my favorite and we hung out and chatted for quite a while trying to put together a nearly impossible puzzle. Could have spent hours there honestly. Not to BEE missed!!

Wish we could’ve rated BIG ISLAND with 10 stars! Vanessa and Devin are awesome and made us feel like part of their family. They have worked hard to get where they’re at and we hope they stick around for as long as the bees do! GREAT PEOPLE! GREAT MEAD! GREAT PLACE TO VISIT! Highly recommended!

All 4 of us enjoyed our tasting flights. The mead wasn’t sweet and the selections were fabulous. Staff was very nice and informative and allowed us to bring our packed lunch while we enjoyed the lush location.

Quick stop after the beach today…we ventured. in and enjoyed a few flights and a honey cheese board. Very friendly and definitely a passion for what they are promoting. We took home both honey and a few bottles of mead.
