My grandson and I joined this tour on a rainy day in April. Our guide Dan did a masterful job of managing the group (all experienced mountain bikers with the possible exception of the undersigned) and we all had a great ride. Beautiful scenery and the bikes were in very good shape as well. Highly recommended.

Our family of five (kids ages 17, 14 and 12) had a great bike tour this week led by Dan and Jeremy. They were both engaging and informative - we learned so much about this area of the island and got in some great bike miles, too. It was just the right amount of stops (including a visit to a fantastic tropical fruit stand) to make sure everyone enjoyed the ride w/o feeling like they were lagging behind. It took some energy to conquer the hills of the last mile, but the destination was well worth the leg burn required. The views of the valley were exceptional! Highly recommend this bike tour company and be sure to ask for Dan and Jeremy to be your guides!

My wife and I are avid MTBers from Denver, CO so we wanted the real deal experience on The Big Island. Scheduling our bike tour was pleasant due to Lauren’s willingness to work around the rest of our Hawaii activities we had planned on the island. My wife and I were scuba diving as well as being ‘at elevation’ so it took some coordination but they worked around our schedule to allow us to do the tour we wanted to do. Jeremy was our tour guide and was super chill, knowledgeable, and allowed us to do what we wanted to do with the perfect amount of historical facts and pleasant conversation.
The equipment was quite new and dialed upon our arrival in so we didn’t have to fiddle around with anything.
Jeremy had designed and built the trails himself, and the berms were really nice and flowly which allowed for a really nice, smooth descent. Mountain biking on private property in Hawaii and being the only ones on the acreage was a a rare treat.

Booked a private family mountain bike ride on Mana Road and it was definitely a highlight of our trip. Jeremy, our local guide, quickly and efficiently showed us the ropes on the e-bikes and got us outfitted and geared up to ride in no time. He tailored the tour to our 9 year old, giving her confidence yet letting her push herself and her comfort level. He even shared with her his private stash of kid friendly snacks like fruit leathers, peanut butter Ritz and mini Oreos. The slopes of Mauna Kea are gorgeous and the weather was sunny and cool so couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a Saturday. Jeremey shared historical local knowledge about ranching on the Big Island that was cool for us locals from Oahu to learn about. He also shared his favorite local eateries to fuel up and relax after a ride. It really felt more like getting to ride around with a friend than a tour operator. Much mahalo!

This was a great time with my spouse and father in law. The tour guide was friendly, capable, and able to pace out the group so all skill levels could have a fun and/or challenging ride based on their abilities. Mana Road was gorgeous; scenic with beautiful weather. I can't wait to try Gravel biking on my next trip.

We had a fantastic ride with Dan who graciously agreed to take us out on Christmas Day. The ride on Mana Road was beautiful - we even got to stop and pet the horses on the ranch who were roaming on the path nearby. My boys loved the speedy e-bikes and Dan was great and telling us about the history of the ranch and letting us set our own pace. I highly recommend Big Island Bike Tours - they were super accommodating and it’s a great way to spend time exploring a different part of the island!

Rode the 15 mile Mana Road e-bike tour with Jeremy. Ride was super fun and Jeremy was the best. He is very knowledgeable, is easy to talk to, and made sure everyone was comfortable with the ride and went at their own pace. He even gave some sunburn advice and a great recommendation for local burgers after the ride (Village Burger). The e-bikes make this ride accessible for wide range of abilities. Definitely recommend as a way to see a different part of the island, get some exercise, and enjoy the rural side of the Big Island.

The bike tour was awesome! Dan was very friendly and so informative about the island. We were glad they were e-bikes on a few of the hills, that extra little boost was just what we needed. It’s a bit windy up there so if you get cold easily pack a light jacket for the ride down. We definitely recommend this tour!

We had a beautiful ride up through the Parker Ranch on Saturday, 11/20. The 1000 foot elevation gain was made easy by the electric assist bikes. Jeremy, the guide, provided much local lore and knowledge that kept us interested as well as invigorated. Certainly one of the best ways to spend a late morning in Hawaii. We would do it again. Jeremy was great paying attention to the different needs of riders, some unfamiliar with electric assist mountain bikes. WE loved it.

The info on the website was somewhere between vague and misleading, and the business was difficult to get in touch with which was frustrating. But we took the chance, thinking it was a shuttled downhill mountain bike adventure.
What we got instead was a really fun *E* mountain bike adventure, up and down, with a great guide! The scenery was insane, it felt like we were in New Zealand or Ireland, with the rolling pasturelands and fog and rain. The weather cleared at the end and the views were extraordinary. It ended up being one of our favorite activities from our visit to the big island.
I would strongly recommend to the owners of this business to update the website with accurate and clear information, and possibly include a method of contact for questions since there isn’t really a storefront to call.

We are bringing the grandson to Hawaii in April 2020. He loves his bike but is more into BMX than road biking. He’s 12. Do you have anything appropriate for him?

As far as I recall the only have mountain bikes and ebikes of different sizes..there are climbs that require gear shifting to make it up.

I'm interested in the Anna Mountain ride but am fairly new to Mountain biking. Is this a good trip for a beginner? Also, what wheel sizes are available?

Aloha,
Thank you for your interest in our mountain bike tour!
If your a beginner, we usually recommend a Mana Rd tour, which is less technical and has a gradual climb. It's very beautiful and we can adjust the distance to suit your experience.
We offer 27.5 for our wheel size.
Please feel free to email us if you have any other questions.
Mahalo,
Alex
