Fun place to visit, so different than what you think of "Hawaii." Food was excellent. Long bus ride from Kailua-Kona, but nice to have someone else drive so you can enjoy the Kona Brewery beer served there. Also get to practice your roping skills, pet a pig. The views are to die for. Prepare for cool weather, even some rain.

Iis, and well worth it! As much fun as the beach and pool are, this is a great and unique break from the sun and sand. The owner of this ranch knows how to entertain. The kids had so much fun with all of the actvities, branding (wood), learning to lasso, horseshoes, tether ball, star gazing through a telescope (we... More

The ranch is beautiful! We arrived to a open bar with red and white wine, beer and sodas. After the kind winded ranch hand finished, they opened the buffet line which had chicken, round steak which was tough, corn mashed potatoes, salad and Mac nut pie which was so so! I must say the food was OK but did not reflect... More

we went to Kahua Ranch for the bbq with a big family group. there were 18 of us ranging from 2yrs old to 75. the entire experience was great. food was very good and the hosts were welcoming and entertaining. I would highly recommend this experience. it's a part of Hawaii that many people don't know about.

I haven't been on a horse in 30+ years, my husband and son are beginners and my daughter has been riding for the past year. We all had a great time, riding through the hills on our borrowed horses. The two young women were experienced and helpful throughout. What a great time!

Kahua Ranch at Naalapa Stables in North Kohala... what an unforgettable experience for my family which included my 8yr (minimum age) and 10yr old sons. We booked the 1.5hr mid-morning ride and actually had the ride to ourselves with our 2 guides... with access to cowboy boots, jackets, gloves, and other gear. Quite affordable compared to other activities plus online... More

I havens seen such a beautiful sunset in forever! Great introduction to the history and uniqueness of ranching in Hawaii. Good food, all around, great steaks, good music, fun activities, ESPECIALLY THE TELESCOPE. There is only one line dance (if you count the electric slide as a line dance). No real dancing. Very mellow, relaxing evening, but if you are... More

We chose to drive our rental car from Kailua-Kona up the coast to Kahua Ranch and it was worth the trip. Beautiful scenery and the ability to make stops along the way. The only possible downside to driving yourself, is that there are no streetlights for most of the ride back, so you should be ok with night driving. Otherwise,... More

Long bus ride -2 hours each way plus non working bathrooms offset the good food. Great hosts but overpriced for value. Good for someone who had never visited a ranch

I’m conflicted about how I feel concerning this event but I can only recommend it with some caveat. The food was good, the atmosphere fun, the band playing country music did a fine job, there is a small area for dancing, the tables are more than adequate and I liked that they provided reserved seating for parties of 5 or...
