Went to experience the local feel with hammocks between the palm trees and friendly fun. It was clean the shower facility was large and accommodating. On our first visit we were fortune to experience some whale watching! On the second visit just before we had to leave the island I gave my camera to stranger snorkeling who captured some fantastic... Although the beach is fairly nice, just be warned that there's a lot of locals who camp out here and kind of own the place.

I read about spencer beach and the things were kinda pro and con. It was a low life beach that locals would take their dogs to and the sell drugs in. Now.. The State has cleaned it up and tried to make it a place that anyone can enjoy. We stopped at the historical park above beach park to look... More

I think there is a good snorkeling spot somewhere around but the beach itself is not as nice as others.

Stopped by here briefly to do some bird watching. Popular with the local people some of whom looked a bit rough but everyone minded their own business.

This is a relatively well maintained campground and beach park in between Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site and Hapuna Beach. It's about 45 minutes north of Kona, depending on traffic. The beach here is very nice, although it has a lot of rocks so swimming is a tad tricky. Sunsets are beautiful from here. There are two camping areas, one... More

This beach isn't a clear as others and the bottom is more rocky than sand. It's a locals type beach with campers and families, it does have a life guard and service areas with showers. If you don't want the busy beach types try this spot for reading a book or just lying in the sun..

The beach is one of the few on the island that has a nice sandy area. It has nice bathrooms and great for anyone who wants to just relax. Not sure how busy it gets but it was pretty empty when we were here.

We selpt in hammocks there for one night. It is perfect for camping because you don't have street noise. You can fall asleep by oceane sound. Its awesome! Also good for campers is, that you have showers and toilettes for free!
