We booked a 2 hour horseback ride for our family of four. We have no real horseback riding experience and the ride turned out to be great! Our guide, whose name I either forgot or never learned, was super patient, relaxed and nice. We all had our own horses, including our five year old who had only been on a... More

We took a group of students on a ride. Those who had never ridden were nervous and were quickly put at ease by the staff. The clouds hung over the hills, but the ranch land was beautiful. The horses were in good condition. We opted for an optional barbecue which was amazing. The students were also given roping lessons. The... More

Horses in great condition, I ended up being the only rider. Rode with guide kayo and had a wonderful conversation. Beautiful day, rode on Maisy with the dogs running nearby and amongst cattle, great view of the island. They take children as young as 3 so great for the whole family. I have ridden with two other ranches on the... More

If I could give Dahana Ranch a higher rating I would!! This was by far the best part of our trip for my daughter and her friend. We signed them up for the 2 hour Experienced Rider ride and it did not disappoint. It ended up being just the two of them and their guide and after asking them several... More

We've been on many trail rides before, usually where the horses walk one behind the other. Not on this ride. You ride side by side. There's plenty of open space, lots of hills and wide open spaces. This is some beautiful country thru here. Our guide was great. And unlike some trail rides that have a weight limit of 250lbs,... More

Wow.. a little tough to find but so worth it. call ahead and make reservations, then call when you get close.. the turn off is easy to miss. Kayo, the owner, is so nice and can guide you right to them. THE BEST Riding on Hawaii.. These are not plodding, stupid horses just one step this side of a glue... More

A great way to experience Waimea and a gentile horseback ride for children under 6. The ranch is well-kept and landscape is beautiful.

We love Kiyo and Harry...and have been coming here for over 25 years. No nose-to-rear end ride..this ride is over a working ranch where you are encouraged to "spread out" and follow your own pace. Harry let our 2 year olds ride - first with a cowboy and then as they got older with a lead and then by themselves!!... More

My horse's name was Philly. We went up a really steep hill and saw beautiful scenery. Then we had to go down the tall, steep hill. We held puppies. Mine was trying to get out of my hands. We also saw a pig walking back and forth. I also think that Duly was a nice horse too. I would go... More
