We were guests on Captain Dan's boat yesterday for an 11am boat tour. (We had rescheduled from the 7am tour at the request of the company.) There was a shop at the meeting place where we could use the bathroom and get a quick bite to eat before our tour. We were loaded onto the boat and found that all of the indoor seats were taken so we had to sit on the top level which meant no shade. The trip itself wasn't too bad. I usually get a bitseasick, but was ok. Captain Dan talked a lot about how we should be searching the waters for whales and what we should watch for. (I would have liked a little more talk about whales while we were cruising the coast.) We were offered a tray of baby carrots and tortilla chips (grab your own out of the dish.) Later a tray of bananas, oranges, and pineapple came around. Best part was the scoop of M&MS that was offered near the end. The worst part, which I know cannot really be controlled, what that we saw NOTHING. We got certificates to come back again but given that we're only on the island for a limited time, we won't be going again. We can't help but feel disappointed in this trip. For me, my husband, and our teenagers, we wish we hadn't wasted our time.

Captain Dan's whale watching trip was thrilling and quite educational. We saw a 1 month old baby humpback breaching repeatedly!

My wife and I have been on a number of whale watching tours over the years. Some are overly hyped, others seem more interested in maintaining a party boat scene, and others are less than professional in their approach to whale watching. Captain Dan brings decades worth of experience and passion to his whale watching experiences. Throughout the trip he shares concise, clear facts and details about whales and how to watch for them and intersperses his commentary with interesting stories. Captain Dan is patient and his patience flows over to his customers expectations of seeing whales. Our patience paid off as we got to see 5 humpbacks (1 of them a calf with it’s mama). Our 3 hour trip seemed to fly by and I can say it was one of the better whale watching experiences we’ve ever had. Captain Dan delivers.

Captain Dan McSweeney is very knowledgeable about whales. He was very easy to understand over the speakers. Tips were given as to exactly when to take the perfect picture. We saw up to 9 whales on February 17, 2020. (Hint: Please stay quiet while the captain is speaking & you will hear everything he says) Dan respects the whales & the sea. We felt very, very safe & comfortable. If you have a "sports setting" on your point & shoot camera, use it. I was able to get good clear pictures using that setting. Great fresh snacks of carrots, tortilla chips, fresh fruits (bananas, pineapple, oranges & more) juice & water were provided. (also M & M candies). There were all ages of people on the boat from young children to elderly senior citizens. This was the best whale watch we have experienced out of 3 we've enjoyed. All of Dan's staff on the boat were very kind & helpful. We highly recommend Captain Dan McSweeney's Whale Watch tour. Bill & Ginger from Kansas

Excellent trip with Captain Dan Mc Sweeney and his friendly crew. We have seen about 8 whales during the trip. Some of them were really close to the boat. The captain, who is marine biologist gave a good overview on the whales and other marine creatures. The fruits and snacks were good. My wife and me enjoyed this adventure a lot. I recommend this program to anybody who is interested in whales and ecology.
