Lovely little bay with safe lagoon in which to swim. Safe for little ones. Turtles swim around your feet as you stand in the water. Parking available near by.

Maybe we were spoiled by the beaches on the North west side like Hapuna. This beach did not do it for us. You MUST wear water shoes or some footwear, not for the water but for the all of sharp rocks everywhere else you walk....More

Going to Carlsmith Beach was one major highlight during our cruise to Hawaii. From lava rock jutting out of the water, to waves breaking a few meters away to sandy bottom. We knew this beach could only belong to Hawaii and we loved every moment...More

This doesn't look like a great beach from the shoreline, but is quite nice swimming once you manage to get out into the water (which itself is not easy) where there is plenty of white sand. Even so, I recommend water shoes, as there are...More

This is the most amazingly beautiful spot. It doesn't look like much from the parking lot but the color of the water and the white sand bottom of this lagoon and bay are simply other worldly. Follow the trail behind the hotel and you will...More

I just loved this beach! Hilo doesnt have the best beaches as compared to Kona, but this was my favorite on the east side. Got to see turtles as well!

I can't say enough about how beautiful this beach is. There is a perfect grassy area to picnic and then into the water right from the rocks. there little paths off the main trail that take into the water, which was great for my 3...More

I stayed in Kona but visited this park after reading reviews. I was so happy I did, because it turned out being my favorite area on the island, due to its sheer beauty and local feel. I didn’t get in the water so I cannot...More

I had the most peaceful experience going in the water with turtles and there were no crowds. The water was all shades of blue and sand bar huge and waves crashing in the distance was the best place for a dip. Water was warm with...More

A little primeval, a little sloppy, a little scary if you let your imagination run wild we took the trail which is from a more distant parking lot and loved it. Once you pop out unto the freshly cut grass at the park you can...More
