We purchased our first Ukuleles
Feb 2019 • Couples
My husband and I bought our first ukuleles from Rick. We are happy with our Ukuleles and impressed with the wonderful way we have been treated during this adventure. We were given lots of help and information. We were not pushed to make a purchase nor were we steered toward more expensive and fancy ukuleles. We took a free lesson today and are amazed at the excellent teaching skills that Rick has. This has been a top notch experience. Forget buying online...go for the aloha experience because it is worth it!

Ukuleles everywhere, and guitars
Feb 2017 • Solo
I went here because a friend of mine takes ukulele lessons and I wanted to tell her in Hawaii they have whole shops of ukuleles. The people were very friendly considering it was obvious I was not about to buy a ukulele myself

Ukulele purchase
Feb 2017
Bought my first Ukulele here. What a great experience! The store assistant answered all my questions and spent quite some time helping me pick out my instrument. They have lots of stock and are very knowledgeable on what they have. We comparison shopped and their prices are extremely reasonable. The ukulele I bought was cheaper in their store than Amazon! Even if you aren't interested in purchasing one they will let you come in and play a few and leave, no pressure. Great little store in Hilo!

Beautiful selection of Taylors and Ukuleles
Sep 2016 • Couples
I was on vacation with my husband in Kohala Coast, and we took a day out to visit Hilo, with specific sites on the Hilo Farmers Market and Hilo Guitars and Ukuleles, not knowing it's actually right beside the Farmers Market. I knew I wanted a high quality authentic Hawaiian uke, and they didn't disappoint. Ken Cameron took great care of me, spent quite a bit of time helping me understand the various options, and I left a happy camper, with a brand new Kanile'a Ukulele. Would definitely recommend and return.

Went here with my boyfriend. He came out with a Koa Taylor Mini. It made his entire Hawaii trip in one store. Beautiful Ukeleles and super friendly clerk who was very knowledgable in his products. A+

Well Equipped Store with Knowledgeable and Friendly Staff
Jul 2016 • Family
Ken and Rick have something for everyone. From entry level ukeleles to high end custom ones and a great selection of guitars and accessories. Fun to stop in and visit and browse. Don't buy a ukelele in a gift shop....stop in and see these guys.

I went in to this place just looking at the guitars and ukuleles. Rick is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He gave me a great deal on a ukulele, case and humidifier, I couldn't resist.....we made it home to East Coast and I love this thing!! Thx Rick :)

Great, friendly service.

I had limited time in Hilo and really wanted a Ukulele to add to my collection. I arrived late (store was closing, sign was still on). Staff was very friendly, and took a lot of time finding the right instrument for me and my budget, as well as giving a good 10-15 minute quick instruction to get me started. I'll never forget my experience here.
My only regret is forgetting the name of the amazing staff that helped me.

I'm not a musical type person but I wanted to get a Ukulele as a souvenir. The staff was very helpful & steered me to some inexpensive ones. They were more interested in getting me what I needed rather than making a large sale. I'd recommend this place to anyone, they'll take good care of you

I wanted a ukulele. A friend in the islands suggested Hilo Guitars and Ukuleles. I went and 199.85 dollars later I left with a ukulele and everything I needed to start taking lessons.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful without being pushy. I got their undivided attention from start to finish. They were super friendly and I can highly recommend this store.
