We rented single kayaks for three hours out of Reed's Bay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, providing good guidance as to where to kayak. The kayaks were in great shape and very stable. You just wheel the kayaks down to the beach and launch. It was really easy. We enjoyed our kayak around the peninsula and to Coconut Island. It was pretty easy and relaxing kayaking for us. It allowed us some peaceful time on the water without a lot of people around. Thanks.

We booked the Manta “Discovery”. Pros: the staff is very friendly and they provided plenty of nice snacks and drinks. Cons: Did not see any manta rays. We were told that it’s a 50/50 chance. I would be ok with this (because they are wild animals) if the trip could pass as a simple snorkel trip with some other things to see but we did not even see any small reef fish. The size of the boat was unexpected but I should have read the other reviews a bit closer. Look up Zodiac and imagine sitting on the sides as you bounce out to your adventure. Lastly, most everyone felt sea sick. The tiny boat + rough seas (because it’s the windward side) were bearable but what got everyone was being tugged around in the rough water as you are face down hanging on to the light board. Overall, the trip was a dissapointment but perhaps it will improve over time.

Dissatisfied, disappointed. The manta ray night swim was lacking manta rays. We were not informed that it was not an established tour until we had already booked, paid and put on wet suits. We did not see a single living being in the water. The team was very nice but I think it should be stated there is no guarantee and that it is so brand new they don't even have anything set up. We went into open ocean in the dark with a light board. We saw a ray from the boat for a second. Very sad and it was our last night on the island on our honeymoon so we couldnt even ask to rebook.

Being guided through the reef and shown all the fish was wonderful. It gave us the confidence to go back on our own.

The beach snorkel tour is literally a waste of money. You’re paying for something that is basically free. I mean you’re paying for a ride to a public beach - Richardson Ocean Park - dubbed mysteriously as Sea Turtle Lagoon so that you couldn’t look it up. It was about $130 per person so with taxes over $500 for a family of 4. Basically the same price as a boat tour. We booked it thinking it would be some hard to get to secret beach with neat snorkeling and possibly of seeing turtles. We did see the poor creatures trapped in a tide pool by low tide. Poor sickly turtles were probably stuck there for days. We went in at 9:30 by the time we got to the beach it was 9:35 and we schlepped the gear up because the parking lot is closed for construction. The snorkeling area is underwhelming, with shallow bleached coral and the standard assortment of local fish. I did manage to find a neat moray eel but that was the highlight. The guide, Keith, was a really nice guy and he does his guide job formidably and tells good stories of his life in Hawaii. Have some good tips on where to eat in town. The tour is supposed to last until 12:30 - we were out of the water by 11 and I literally had to ask if we were going to another location as it is specified in the tour description, so he took me (others were tired and done) to a beach next door - same park just 50ft to the left to snorkel there. It was a beach full of kids and very few fish - just some sea cucumbers. For the money this is very poor value. The guide is great and does his job well. Google the park and go there yourself - you’ll save yourself some serious money and disappointment.
