We decided after we arrived on the Big Island to do this adventure based on some conversations we had with other guests at our Inn. What a great decision we made! From the moment we arrived at the airport, we knew it was going to be amazing. We received a friendly greeting at the desk and then brought to the... More

Finally, I had the helicopter tour that I wanted. Two years ago, I took a tour in Maui with a company that has helicopters with doors. I was sitting in the middle, did not see anything, it was like sitting in a living room watching TV with 5 heads in the front and side of you, and it was expensive,... More

The process to book was easy and super friendly. The ride itself was ok. We did the island experience for 2 hours. Barely got to see Kailua. I asked him to circle back as he only did it from one side and it was so hurried! The whole reason we paid $1600+ was to see the active volcano and lava!... More

We took the doors off extreme helicopter lava and waterfalls tour. Our ride was last one of the day and was a bit cloudy. We spent a lot of time over the flowing lava which was very cool. Not a lot of time at rainbow falls. Given the weather it was probably the right call. I wish that I had... More

We took our 6 year old to see some lava. Our pilot Ryan was great. He pointed out lots of lava and a couple waterfalls. He made sure to get some good angles so our son could see too. He was very knowledgeable about the area and history. We could not have asked for a better flight or pilot. The... More

Having done several prior "volcano" helicopter tours, the kids decided that they wanted to try the doors-off "feel the heat" (you really can!) flight on Paradise helicopters. The pilot (Joyce) was very informative and they also liked the two way communication in the Hughes/MD/Boeing 500 "Little Bird" helicopters used on the "doors off" flights. Among other things, the lack of... More

My husband and I went to the Big Island in search of a volcano. We went to Volcano National Park during day and night without feeling accomplished. Our doors off extreme tour was amazing!! We saw lava in the active volcano and beautiful waterfalls! Our pilot made sure to allow my husband and I got to see everything. We paid... More

Very professional but friendly. Did the doors off tour over the volcanoes and waterfalls. The pilot Shawn was very cool. He flew over the new flows and made sure everyone on board (both sides) got great views of everything. ONLY negative, which they have no control over...there are tons (yes tons) of gnats all around the flight area. They land... More

This was a 'bucket list' experience. "Doors off" to feel the heat and smell the sulphur from the Pu'u O'o vent was amazing. Joyce, our pilot, was very informative. When my heart rate had settled down I began to enjoy the sights of the eastern coast of Big Island with its macadamia nut trees and old lava flows. We saw... More

What a spectacular ride! Our family of four opted for the doors-off experience, and after a nervous start, decided we wouldn't have it any other way. The crew members at Paradise were professional, friendly and efficient. The ground staff were thoroughly organised and easy to understand. Our pilot, Colin, was a wonderful blend of serious pilot and entertaining commentator, advising... More
