We visited Rainbow Falls on the day that tropical storm Olivia was to come ashore on the Big Island. Since we were getting rained out from snorkeling, we figured we would drive around and see the sights. The waterfall was beautiful, and we spent quite...More

Another local free stop in Hilo. Worth a look and a few pictures. There are restrooms so you could make this a packed lunch stop.

Our friends from California arrived in Hilo on princess and had a morning excursion planned. We met them after noon and took the short drive to the falls. We all enjoyed the beautiful falls. It is an easy uber ride for visitors that come in...More

The falls are pretty. As far as falls go, there are more impressive falls, but they are beautiful, and very easy to access. People with disabilities can easily access and see the beauty of these falls.

Beautiful falls, we saw the rainbow and toddler friendly - they are right there, no hiking required.

We went right after Hurricane Lane was clear and the water was still raging. The parking lot and restrooms and very well taken care of and the stairs up and easy to climb even with a toddler in tow.

Another beautiful waterfall do not miss it. Recent heavy rains had the water moving and levels up but we did see the rainbow effect by the spray of water off the falls

Stopped here quickly on our way back. The water was not raging like it was earlier in the week with all the rain. There are two viewing areas... one below and one above. It was very beautiful.

Went on a sunny morning and the view was mesmerizing, great short stop when at Hilo. I would go there even if you're at Kona, then go to akaka falls afterward and loop around to waipio valley

This is a super easy destination with a great view if you are near Hilo. Not as pretty as Akaka Falls, but the hike is super short (under 5 minutes of walking.)
