I had the AMAZING opportunity to spend a week at Ai Lani Orchards. What made this stay so incredible is the delicious food grown on the land, and shared beautifully by Elizabeth, Barney and their incredible team. It was beautiful, quiet, deeply relaxing and sumptuous. The people, the land and the incredible abundance of Mother Earth made the stay my all time favorite and I have been to Hawaii over 20 times, stayed in 4 star hotels and nothing tops this experience. I can't wait to come back.

By far the best macadamia nuts I've ever had in Hawaii. The way they roast them is the purest. Coffee not bad either.

My family and I stopped at Ailani Orchards on our way back to the Kohala resort area after visiting Punauluu. We had a wonderful time talking to one of the owners, who was extremely friendly and knowledgable about all of the farm's crops. We tried their wonderful Kai coffee and fresh macadamia nuts and bought coffee, mac brittle, and a white pineapple. Everything was delicious. I also appreciated the quirky and politically engaged signs and flags in the store. I can't wait to go back!

Nice roadside stop with very knowledgeable proprietor. The raw macadamia nuts are very tasty. We enjoyed the brief stop.

Is stopped here on my return drive to Kona and had a great coffee made by the guy who grows and processes the beans. I normally don't like percolated coffee and was surprised when the owner had a cheeky sign saying 'don't ask for milk or sugar as it doesn't need any'. Well he was spot on and the dark roast percolated coffee was not bitter and had a long smooth taste. Much better than the hyped up Kona coffee available in all the stores. The dried macadamia nuts were also really good.

We stopped at this road side store on our way back to Kona from Punalu'u black beach. Barney shared his great knowledge of coffee and macadamia nuts he grows right there. We were luck enough to see a triple coffee bean opened!!

We enjoyed our visit with you Barney, hope to be back soon.

Coffee as the bean or they can grind it right there is really areomatic.

The macadamia nuts are not toasted but dried at 120 deg F for 96 hours as to not destroy the good Omega-3 fats.
All hand picked right there on the property.

Was en route to Punalulu and saw a roadside stand just before town serving coffee tastings and fresh raw macadia nuts. I'd been wanting to try Kau coffee, as a huge fan of Kona I'd heard there was another district making perhaps better coffee. I tried a sample cup and bought a couple bags of coffee whole bean and brought them home. I've made it 3 times after grinding fresh before making in a French press. Wow it's quite a bit different than my favorite Kona (Koa Grand Domaine Single Estate). The Kona is much brighter and more acidic, but both are smooth and powerful. I actually think this is smoother and richer than the Koa. I have a feeling I'm going to be ordering more from them and shipped to me if they'll do it. Really, it's amazing coffee. You should try it even if you don't visit.

We were driving from Kona to the Volcano National Park, saw the orchard sign, and decided to stop. Might sound crazy but this was the highlight of my day. While Barney plied us with samples, he told us about the products, the history of the stand, and more. You could tell that he genuinely loved and believed in what he was doing. And the reason was obvious to anyone with taste buds. The coffee was delicious. The dehydrated (not roasted) macadamia nuts were irresistible. The brittle was yummy.
We purchased quite a bit and decided to have Barney mail the items home so we wouldn't have to worry about stuffing them in our suitcases. When we got back home, everything was waiting for us...unbroken and as tasty as we remembered.

What a great stop to stretch the legs, learn about organic/sustainable farming, try java & macadamia nuts and purchase yummy products. We were greeted by a friendly and informative farmer who loved his job. The animals, food and people create a circle of life= good ol' farming. I can't wait to try the Macadamia Nut-Butter we purchased and the huge $.50 cent avocado, not your 'normal' guac avocado, either. Be sure to stop here!
