Tour The tasting experience was phenomenal! Our guide was very knowledgeable. She is on the island from California on a work program for farming and her passion showed. She showed us the trees, the beans, etc. She explained the entire process and showed us the processor and new roaster. Price The price was comparable to other coffee farms I have visited in Vietnam, Belize, and Hawaii. We even joined thier coffee club. Tasting The tasting was very well done. They use french press and you are able to try a few of their coffees including an award winner. Very unique and boutique tasting. The whole tasting was very personal and professional. The view from their outdoor tasting porch was incredible. Cleanliness All of the french presses, cups, etc were clean and sanitary. The cups were covered so debris could not contaminate them. I will go back next year when I am on the island again.…

Delicious, fresh and, most importantly, ORGANIC Kona coffee. The natural flavors are enhanced by the roasting and blending process and the farm is so vibrant and alive!

Surrounded by 100 year old organic coffee trees and with a view of the ocean, we sipped and learned about growing organic coffee on the big island. We then drove down to the beach for a refreshing snorkel! I recommend a pit stop at Hala for anyone exploring the Kona coastline. …

We have toured some more commercial coffee growers in Kona and were looking for something different. We were lucky to find Hala Tree near our breakfast restaurant and drove up to check it out. We drove up the bendy road and were greeted by a friendly barking dog. We enjoyed a thorough tour of the farm from one of the workers who showed us the plants, taught us about the process and then prepared all the coffees and teas for tasting. There was no high pressure to buy anything which was great. They offer free shipping for purchases more than $50 so it is a great way to buy gifts and send them home. The coffee was great and really reasonably priced compared to some other Kona varieties - and we appreciated the lack of pesticides!…
