"Excellent massage! I highly recommend going here if you have that knot that you just can't get out. Me and my wife came to the Big Island for a one week..."

Fabulous Treatment
Aug 2014 • Couples
I googled Shiatsu Kona & up came Tom's site so I decided to try it, I suffer from chronic lower back pain & rhuematoid arthritis. I came to him as I was experiencing pain in my hips which was causing me to have pain in my lower back, not only did he fix my lower back he treated my entire body & found every single spot that I was sore or tight in. I walked away feeling great I highly recommend him, he has a wonderful understanding of the body & when you are on holidays & you are in pain you definitely need to have someone like Tom who can pretty much fix you so that you can get back to enjoying your holiday!!!!

My first Shiatsu treatment
Sep 2013 • Solo
I would like to say that I am very happy to have come into the office of the Kona Shiatsu clinic of Mr. Tom Langenstein. I came in to see if he can help me. I was having pain for a few years with my right hand finger and up my arm. I felt so much better and relieved from his treatment that the results were fantastic. I strongly and totally recommend his treatments to anyone, for whatever ails you. Thanks so much!

A Hawaiian vacation has been a dream of mine for decades .This month it became a reality, and along with the dream came the sporadic "back attack". My husband and I had no references to go with, so chose Tom for his web page. I have visited a number of massage therapists over the years with good success, but have not had the deep and immediate results I got with Tom's "brand" of gentle correction. He not only addresses the problem but is capable of passing on a lot of relevant knowledge Tom is a real instructor and helped me to see how I can prevent future irritations. Now we can get back to vacationing.

My plan for this vacation was to move toward restoring balance. I had never experienced Shiatsu before, but on learning it worked on trigger points (It is more complicated than this, but it was all I needed to know.), I made an appointment. Tom is a gifted and solid practitioner. In fact, my husband and I are changing plans so we can return through Captain Cook, for another session for me and the first for my husband. As a physician, I have great respect for how Tom goes about his work. Sessions last an hour.

This technique would be ideal for someone who is reluctant to experience massage and/or prefers not to disrobe.

Best Shiatsu
Aug 2012 • Solo
I am happy to say that I am the niece of Tom Langenstein. With that being said I have never seen Uncle Tom for a Shiatsu treatment, until recently. I work at our local airport in the baggage area and do A LOT of lifting. I was experiencing a lot of lower back pain for quite some time. Because I’ve never had a shiatsu treatment before I was very nervous. The pain was getting so bad I was beginning to hurt just to lye down. I decided to call and sign me up for a Shiatsu treatment. Not only did Uncle Tom give me the most relaxing Shiatsu massage but he also gave me “homework” and things I can do while at work to relieve the pain, and prevent it from coming back. He is very knowledgeable of the human body and genuinely cares that his clients feel better and continue to feel better.

Excellent Relaxing Shiatsu
Apr 2012 • Solo
My wife and I, each booked a session with Tom at the clinic. As a practicing physician, I can attest that Tom is gifted practioner with incredible technique to heal along with a deep knowledge of how to prevent and heal chronic injuries. I would recommend anyone with chronic injuries/pain including headaches or anyone wanting a relaxing encounter to see Tom. Shiatsu has excellent healing/relaxation powers. It was my first time, and I plan on utilzing again when I return home from Hawaii.

Best shiatsu treatment
I suffer from chronic pain and fatigue in addition to a genetic disease. I've heard nothing but raving reviews about Tom so I decided to see if he could really help me. Not only did he put me completely at ease but he studied and researched my sickness to help me find a solution. He is a wonderful therapist and I highly recommend his services.

They only offer dates back one year but I was there a few years back and I have never felt so rejuvenated from a massage in my life until Tom Langenstein treated me. Now if I could just get him to move to Montana. Failing that I will have to head back to Captain Cook for another as soon as I can.

What a wonderful experience!! I left without the pain and with guidance about how to avoid the problem in the future.
Sep 2011
I hurt my shoulder working in the yard. After several days of pain and increasing stiffness I went to Tom. What a difference!! He used Shiatsu (finger pressure) massage techniques to relax my tight knot of shoulder muscle. I could feel the muscles relaxing as he worked on me. Tom sent me home with instructions on how to continue the healing process for the hurt muscles and also (very importantly!) how to avoid similar problems in the future.

Talking with him it's clear that he knows both oriental massage techniques and also a huge store of western medical knowledge. He puts it together in a way that promotes getting and staying well.

Oh, and his prices are very reasonable.

I left feeling much healthier in body, mind and spirit. I would enthusiastically recommend Tom for anyone seeking massage for therapeutic reasons or for relaxation.
