This was a great addition to our week in Grand Teton! We learned a lot about raptors and our entire group (2 toddlers, 4 adults) enjoyed the program. The program involved a handler holding each raptor for about 10-15min while speaking about the raptor and addressing audience questions. The adults were entertained the whole time. Our kids got a little restless towards the end, but it is definitely a family friendly event that we’d recommend.

Kelly, the concierge at Fireside Resort recommended the combined hiking trip and Raptor Center visit done by Nature’s Tour in Jackson . Our tour guide Beverly was perfect to guide our 10 person family group with ages ranging from mid 70s to 13. After our hike up and down Munger Mountain Beverly drove us to the Raptor Center for a special presentation of three different Raptors! Our family was very impressed with the knowledge shared to us about Raptors snd being able to see 3 of them up close and learn about “their story “ as to how they got their. We were also impressed with the new building structures in progress being accomplished by their fundraising efforts. We can’t wait to go back again in the future to see and learn more about Raptors and the help this Center is making in teaching and caring for Raptors

Amanda brought out 3 raptors for our education and entertainment. Trayne the tiny screech owl was first. He was shy and rotated his head all the way around 270 degrees to avoid eye contact (we learned about the rotation in the session). Next up was huge Gus the golden eagle. He had been bumping around in his crate so we new he was anxious to get out and see us. He fluffed up, craned his head around, pierced us with his laser gaze, chirped and generally was so fun to watch. Finally, Manzana the barn owl came out. She was gorgeous, but missing an eye. She did some big leg stretches while we learned about the owl’s incredible hearing ability. Alas Manzana was deaf, so she has been a resident for a long time and was very comfortable with humans, and also very curious. My 20 year-olds were so entranced, they loved their visit, said it was one of the most amazing experiences of their trip. Amanda was extremely knowledgeable and convinced us that saving birds, especially raptors, is one of the most important things we can do to save our entire ecosystem! We will definitely be coming back!

The Teton Raptor Center’s Feathered Float down the Snake River was one of the highlights of our trip to Wyoming. We were met in the parking lot by Dutch and the ladies form the center, then took a short walk down to the river to get in our boat and begin the trip. We were given instructions and life jackets at this time. Our guide Christine was fun and very knowledgeable about the area wildlife as well as being an excellent river guide. We saw numerous bald eagles and nests along the way as well as some other wildlife. The scenery on the river was absolutely stunning. There were three of us in the boat with Christine and one other boat on the river also from the center which was a good ways away from us. We had it all to ourselves which was wonderful. She also had cold bottled water for us in the boat which was nice as it was a warm day. We got to the camp which was very nice and were met with a wonderful group of ladies who brought the gorgeous raptors we were seeing that day. There were six of us total ( the three people in the other boat joined us). The birds were brought out one at the time and we were given an entertaining and educational presentation about each one as they were brought very close. Seeing them up close was just an amazing experience and the staff interacting with the birds was fascinating to watch. We were able to learn about the birds as well as conservation and rehabilitation efforts these amazing people work toward every day. After it was over our vehicles had been brought to the camp by the staff who by the way implemented excellent Covid 19 protocols throughout the entire day. Our vehicles were cleaned and the staff wore masks and gloves when driving them. Dutch guide us out of the camp and back to the main road. This was a fantastic experience I would recommend it to any wildlife/nature enthusiasts and families looking for a fun, interactive and educational experience. Thank you to all the staff on the Feathered Float for an unforgettable experience! By the way we were their first group and it was very well planned and executed. Great job y’all!

Had a great experience at The Raptor Center program and it’s a must see if you are in the Jackson Hole area. The whole experience far exceeded my expectations! The staff presentation was very informative and getting to see these beautiful Raptors up close and personal was the best! The commitment of these volunteers to save and rehabilitate these incredible birds is beyond impressive. We not only learned facts about the raptors but we also learned how they fit into our ecosystem and things each of us can do to help save them!

It was a great experience to see and learn about raptors up close. Our presenter was very knowledgeable and it was easy to see that she loved the birds and her job. Added bonus, she had a connection to my home state of Iowa, and we had a nice visit about that after the presentation! .

Extremely knowledgeable staff who were also very kind. They treated the raptors with respect and kindness while also educating us all on them. I highly recommend Teton Raptor Center to anyone who is looking for something to do on their trip. They were family friendly and I was impressed with the entire experience.

We had the most incredible trip with the Teton Raptor Center and JH Vintage Adventures! Len led my two kids (3 and 4 years old) and I down the Snake River - he was a wealth of knowledge and a joy to be around. He also spotted 8 different bald eagles which was a highlight of our time in JH for my son. The Teton Raptor Center team brought a few of their raptors and deepened our education. My kids were enthralled (as was I).
I felt that both teams took every precaution during Covid to keep us safe. Highly recommend this to anyone who has the opportunity to participate.

This is a remarkable place to visit. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and our presentation the other day exceeded my expectations.
Witnessing the commitment this organization has for our wild raptors is breathtaking. Whether you are visiting or live here, I urge you to put this on your agenda. Absolutely perfect for all ages. It's an up close and personal presentation. They truly are living up to their mission: to rehabilitate, do research and educate. Bravo!

We signed up for the Raptor Encounter and so glad we did! Our family was part of a small group (10 or so) and we got up close and personal with several large and smaller birds of prey, including the famous Golden Eagle, Gus. The staff that spoke with us were great—knowledgeable and friendly and clearly care very much for the birds. They are undergoing construction to grow the Center and I know it will have an even larger impact in the future. Definitely recommend—our pre-teens loved it and so did the smaller children in the group!
