We offer public programs at our campus in Wilson, as well as live raptor educational experiences throughout the community. Reservations are required for onsite programs. Visit our newly restored historic barn to learn about raptors and their role in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. You’ll also discover more about our work in the field studying birds of prey and in our clinic, where we care for injured, ill, and orphaned raptors and corvids. Hours and programs change seasonally. - Stephanie M2 contributionsSuch a special experience! What a special experience! We booked a private program for family visiting Jackson for the first time from North Carolina — four adults and two boys, 8 and 10 years old. Anna who led the program was extremely knowledgeable and able to share information in a way that kept the two kiddos and us adults engaged. Seeing and hearing the stories about the hawk and owl we “met” was an amazing way to wrap up the program. It was inspiring to hear about the top notch work the Center does.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 16, 2023
- Debbie18 contributionsFun and Educational ExcursionA great excursion if you have some extra time in Jackson Hole! A short Uber drive to Wilson was easy and can be combined with a local lunch. During the winter the center featured daily programs on certain days of the week. We were pleasantly surprised at the very nice facilities at the raptor center. All staff were friendly and highly informative and knowledgeable. At our visit we saw and learned about a Barn Owl (Cosmo), a Peregrine Falcon and a Red-tailed Hawk. I would highly recommend this visit!Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 1, 2024
- Cathie OChicago, Illinois23 contributionsGreat experience for adults and kidsWe have gone to many places that have encounters with wild animals, and The Teton Raptor Center is one of our favorites. When we walked up from the parking lot, someone came out to greet us and tell us that we were in the right place. We were in a beautiful rehabbed barn that is historically significant. The Avian Experience was presented by two engaging and informative people and we were able to see an owl, a hawk and a kestrel up close. Beautiful birds and you could really tell that everyone there really cared for them. I would highly recommend visiting the Teton Raptor Center for both adults and children.Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 23, 2024

- Bronda W1 contributionDefinitely go!You won’t be disappointed with the Avian experience! What an enjoyable and interesting presentation! Anna didn’t skip a beat! Smart, well spoken, interesting and so much learning. Connor presented the beautiful raptors and made sure they were happy while we sat in awe of them. It was in an air conditioned building with a gift shop, hands on learning space and restrooms,Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 25, 2024
- Jane T1 contributionWell worth visitingI strongly recommend visiting the Raptor Center. The presentation was fascinating. The speakers are very well informed and they know how to engage the audience. It was great to see raptors up close. Be sure to visit the native plant garden. It is lovely with many plants that are clearly identified. The shop is terrific, too .Visited August 2024Traveled with friendsWritten August 2, 2024
- Kelly M6 contributionsTSS is the best!My family was lucky enough to do two tours with Teton Science School during our trip to the Jackson Hole area last week. We were guided by Scott, an incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate naturalist during both tours. Our first tour was in the Grand Tetons park, during which we saw multiple moose, a herd of bison, several coyotes and many bird species. Our second tour was a full-day trip to Yellowstone, and we were able to visit multiple geothermal sites as well as see moose, elk, bison, coyotes, and bird life. Scott was able to adapt the itinerary to meet my family’s preferences, and answered what must have been hundreds of questions we lobbed his way during our tours. He also gave us tons of recommendations for hikes and areas to see wildlife during the rest of our trip. We hope to be back to the area soon, and will absolutely request Scott again!Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 26, 2024

We had the most incredible trip with the Teton Raptor Center and JH Vintage Adventures! Len led my two kids (3 and 4 years old) and I down the Snake River - he was a wealth of knowledge and a joy to be around. He also spotted 8 different bald eagles which was a highlight of our time in JH for my son. The Teton Raptor Center team brought a few of their raptors and deepened our education. My kids were enthralled (as was I).
I felt that both teams took every precaution during Covid to keep us safe. Highly recommend this to anyone who has the opportunity to participate.

Kelly, the concierge at Fireside Resort recommended the combined hiking trip and Raptor Center visit done by Nature’s Tour in Jackson . Our tour guide Beverly was perfect to guide our 10 person family group with ages ranging from mid 70s to 13. After our hike up and down Munger Mountain Beverly drove us to the Raptor Center for a special presentation of three different Raptors! Our family was very impressed with the knowledge shared to us about Raptors snd being able to see 3 of them up close and learn about “their story “ as to how they got their. We were also impressed with the new building structures in progress being accomplished by their fundraising efforts. We can’t wait to go back again in the future to see and learn more about Raptors and the help this Center is making in teaching and caring for Raptors

This was such a great experience! We attended with our 8yo daughter, who has always been interested in wildlife. Days later, with a lot of other experiences behind us, she is still raving about the avian experience. The presentation had the perfect balance of interaction and education. The birds were really cool and had their own unfortunate stories with better than average endings thanks to the raptor center. While they rightfully took a short time to mention some of the current initiatives, at no point did I feel they preyed on the audience for donations, which I'm sure everyone appreciated. With that said, I'm not sure how one could walk out without some form of contribution given the positive attitudes and passion of the staff. The facility is new and very clean. It was a great experience and we will always recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Our daughter was even talking it up to our fishing guide who knew nothing about it :)

Amanda brought out 3 raptors for our education and entertainment. Trayne the tiny screech owl was first. He was shy and rotated his head all the way around 270 degrees to avoid eye contact (we learned about the rotation in the session). Next up was huge Gus the golden eagle. He had been bumping around in his crate so we new he was anxious to get out and see us. He fluffed up, craned his head around, pierced us with his laser gaze, chirped and generally was so fun to watch. Finally, Manzana the barn owl came out. She was gorgeous, but missing an eye. She did some big leg stretches while we learned about the owl’s incredible hearing ability. Alas Manzana was deaf, so she has been a resident for a long time and was very comfortable with humans, and also very curious. My 20 year-olds were so entranced, they loved their visit, said it was one of the most amazing experiences of their trip. Amanda was extremely knowledgeable and convinced us that saving birds, especially raptors, is one of the most important things we can do to save our entire ecosystem! We will definitely be coming back!

We signed up for the Raptor Encounter and so glad we did! Our family was part of a small group (10 or so) and we got up close and personal with several large and smaller birds of prey, including the famous Golden Eagle, Gus. The staff that spoke with us were great—knowledgeable and friendly and clearly care very much for the birds. They are undergoing construction to grow the Center and I know it will have an even larger impact in the future. Definitely recommend—our pre-teens loved it and so did the smaller children in the group!

my friends and I were educated on the importance and beauty of raptors. All became very clear once the magnificent raptors came into view on Amanda's glove. She did an amazing job of clearly speaking about these birds and what we can do to help keep wild birds wild. The educational opportunities were available in a learning lab after the talk. No one seemed to want to leave the magnificent facility after the program. Educational for all ages, interesting, fascinating and so important. Highly recommend

We went as a family. There were 13 of us. We had three children under 5 years old. We were led to believe that it was for all ages. About 1/3 the way through the presentation they asked some of us to leave because the small children were too loud. This should be mentioned on the website. I spent $365.00 on a bad experience. You would be better served buying a book on Raptors and binoculars then going out in nature observing them yourself. It was truly nothing but a lecture and short time looking at birds.

It was a great experience to see and learn about raptors up close. Our presenter was very knowledgeable and it was easy to see that she loved the birds and her job. Added bonus, she had a connection to my home state of Iowa, and we had a nice visit about that after the presentation! .
