We were a group of seven from ages six to seventy-six. What an absolute treat. The information overflowed with rich and precise data. The trip around the digs were lead by a leader who interpreted the activities clearly even though she was not a paleontologist. Kudos to her. The museum was so fun. We had youngsters who seriously debated the... More

We went on the Dinosaur Dig for a Day, and had a wonderful time! Each family is assigned to an intern, and taken out to a dig site where dinosaur bones have already been discovered. We got to dig in the Morrison formation, and my eight year old and I each found small fossils. It was hard to get her... More

All the dinosaur loving kids were impressed. The adults also enjoyed looking at the dinosaurs and fossils present.

My son is ate up with dinosaurs so this trip was for him. This museum was great! We did the "shovel ready dig" which was from 1-4 p.m. We got Ethan, Peter and Michael (I believe we got those names right) to guide us through the dig. They were a lot of fun and absolutely full of information which was... More

This place really overwhelms you with its collection of fossils. It's well laid out and very nicely presented. One of a kind fossils are found in just about every nook and cranny. My only complaint is that there are too many replicas. I know, i know, every one wants to see dino X and dino Y, but I'd rather see... More

My daughter and I travelled to Thermopolis specifically for this renowned center; in particular, for its "dig-for-a-day" program, which is one-of-a-kind. You are met at the center in the morning by one of many interns, who are college students studying paleontology. They bring you to an active dig site, give you an excellent history lesson (local, geological, and paleontological) and... More

Thermopolis is a neat little Wyoming town, not real big. And the exterior of the Wyoming Dinosaur Center is nothing special -- no fancy building, looks like a big Quonset hut or a small-airport hangar. Don't let that put you off... Inside, it's packed with about 30 full-sized dino fossils, a collection to rival such world-class museums as NYC's American... More
