We took a 3 hour detour to visit this long time favorite of our now 3 generation star plunge visiting family only to be disappointed by lack of Covid protocol. We called before we came here to see what they were doing. We were told masks were required in all areas except in the water. We asked about capacity and the guy laughed and said they’d never even come close to full capacity and since it had never been packed when we visited before we believed it would be like past visits. We were disappointed. The parking lot was packed all day (we drove by several times), nobody entering or exiting were wearing masks and the outside pool was packed. All we could think of was super spreader event. We are so disappointed.

This place is AWESOME great for familys or just couples. We have stopped 2 times on our way back from Yellowstone heading home to CO.. We have a trip planned here soon to just visit and I'm bringing my nieces and nephew and teen daughter. Definitely a must stop even if it's just a hr then to drive some more...

We stopped at The Star Plunge because of the high ratings on Tripadvisor. My wife and I (from Ohio), had never been to a thermal pool before. We were not disappointed. We were warmly greeted when we entered, changed our clothes in a clean area with a curtain, paid $1 for a locker with key, and headed to the pool. There were around 20 to 30 people in the outside pool area. The large pool had a shallow end, as well as a deep end that had a 15 to 20 foot platform that you could jump off. The water was quite warm yet refreshing. I would call the water temperature perfect. The water had a slight sulfur smell but that was quite alright. There is a sauna next to the pool with water temperature of I believe 105 degrees. It felt good. We spent approaching two hours at this pool. I would go back in a heart beat. My wife and I both agreed that The Star Plunge was one of the highlights of our 7 day vacation throughout Wyoming.

We got there as soon as it opened on a Tuesday morning. There were not many people around. It was not too hot yet, plus we didn't have to wait on the slides. It was perfect. After the lunch, though, there were definitely more people. The time we spent was well worth it! Love it there and it was so relaxing.

There have been several updates since our last visit and it looks great. There are awnings over the pool to shield from constant sun. The slides were all running and the kids had a fantastic time on those. I only gave 4 stars because we had forgotten our sunscreen and they charged $10 for a bottle and that is really outrageous.
