Wildlife, lots of snow and beautiful views. Picture perfect opportunities. Quiet and relaxing. Took snow mobiles and we were able to see so much more.

We hike, camp, and hunt in the Bighorn mountains and like most places in the Rocky Mountains there are plenty of great views and things to do. June is probably my personal favorite , because of the wildflowers.

Incredible views abound, I found myself stopping every 4-5 miles to take pictures. Heading west up the mountain is awesome, stop and look back east. Vistas in the park are truly awe inspiring. The mountains and valleys on the west side are equally beautiful.

My husband ran the Bighorn 100 so we did lots of exploring. Coming from the east coast, we don't see mountains like this very often. Now I wonder what I am doing on the east coast! Such pristine beauty!

Highest peak in Bighorn Mountains is over 13,000 ft. Amazing looking at mineral deposits from over 325-345 million years ago. Signposted which was great. A lovely drive from Cody to Spearfish over these mountains.

Doing a cross country trip - will be passing through Bighorn, just wondering which route has the better scenery the northern trek through Rt. 14 or the southerly route using Rt. 16? The goal for that day is to get from Cody to Spearfish, SD

It totally depends on how much time you have- there are hour hikes or several day hikes; you can drive the forest roads or stay on the main highway. Atv trails can go for days and still not use the same road twice. North... More
