In a place with little to do this was something to do. It got high ratings from others so I tried it but was pretty disappointed--not much real information, pretty tacky.

There are many animals from Wy on display with interesting info, & history of the area Trapper Jake was an amazing local man who trapped into his 90's!! There is a little gift area you can pick up a souvenir, or tanned leather, try making yourself a pair of moccasins.... Great place to take visitors 😀

took out of state friends to the museum and they really enjoyed it. Alot of new things they said were brought over from the Thermopolis, WY museum about local history. Worth a trip.

Yes, there is taxidermy but the animals are displayed in naturalistic poses and if you have time to take the guided tour you will learn so much about these animals that live in Wyoming. Our fantastic docent also shared the stories behind each of the characters displayed in their wax figure museum section. We learned so much more about historical figures and events which we had only a superficial knowledge of. There are other local artifacts and an extensive display of traps. The museum can be enjoyed by just walking through it but it can become a truly enjoyable educational experience if you have the time to take their tour.

The wildlife display is amazing . All together but picturesque little areas of interest. Love the chipmunk in a boat. Large display of various traps and different kinds. Another section of life size figures of history. The Big Nose one gave me chills. Tales of Trapper Jake are sweet. Thanks for the personal tour.
