We drove this route from Grand Teton National Park to Flaming Gorge. An amazing scenic drive teeming with wildlife, pronghorn deers, mule deers, even spotted a mountain lion! I almost hit two marmots.

Traveled this road from Rock Springs to Jackson, WY. Traffic was light and road was well maintained. We found a nice public restroom in Pinedale one block off the highway on Madison. Sign said it was open from 6:00 a.m. to midnight.

I enjoyed seeing pronghorn here & there roaming freely. They seem to travel in groups but sometimes you'd only see 1 or 2 alone. I'd suggest getting to your destination during daylight though because dawn/dusk increases your chances of animals possibly crossing the road & you dont want to hit one. Scenery sure is beautiful though!

I'm sorry to read some found the road boring. But it's a long road, some 177 miles from Rock Springs to jackson and then it continues farther past the Tetons to Yellowstone and up the Gallatin Canyon northwest of Yellowstone! There is so much more than just hills and pronghorn but much of its joy is the gradual way the... More

Some say that Wyoming is not that colorful or beautiful, I would say those are the drivers on I-80, but get off the interstate and discover America's true beauty, Route 191 is one of those suggested roadways. Antelope are plentiful, bald eagles in places, lots of open land, and beauty to be claimed in every mile.

It is a beautiful drive, but when you go south of Rock Springs towards Moab, UT, it is very mountainous driving. Lots of steep driving, and switchbacks. It is beautiful though. Stopped by Flaming Gorge Reservoir, which is worth the trip in itself.

This is beautiful high country teeming with wildlife and vistas and small western Wyoming towns like Pinedale. The highway is wide and well maintained. There is minimal traffic but lots of wide open country to enjoy. It is also an alternative way to get to Jackson and Yellowstone.

Plenty of beautiful vistas to see all along this route. This is where the deer and the antelope play. Time your time and stay a couple days in Pinedale to venture out on days trips.

be careful with the antelope. its very scenic close to jackson or south of rock springs. make sure to hit the restrooms when you can, and get gas before you get up to jackson hole.
