This is a great inside activity for the kids when the weather is no cooperating. There are items there that you would not see otherwise. Nice gift shop too.

We just happened by this unique museum in Jackson and enjoyed the 30 minutes or so it took to wander through the simulations of early Jackson life. There is apparently a sister museum not far away but we didnt find it!

You can get a good sense of the history of the area in this good small museum. It has a bookshop with an interesting collection of books on local history and people. We spent about an hour there.
