We did a half-day sunset tour of Grand Teton and it was outstanding! We honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. We opted for a half day because we have a young child, but I would absolutely recommend a full day if you have the time. Jim was extremely knowledgeable and personable. We essentially saw everything we could have wished for except bears, which was only due to us going the first week of March. We not only saw but had numerous great photo opportunities for elk, bison, big horn sheep, moose, deer, and bald eagles, as well as seeing coyotes from a distance.

I also want to mention that we researched a lot of options prior to our trip and Jim was priced at or better than the other options out there and I guarantee you none of the more expensive options offer a better experience or value for your money. We already plan to come back and do Yellowstone with Jim during the summer. Can’t say enough about the experience. Phenomenal guide and experience.

I am not a morning person, but I was glad I got up before 6am to take the morning Bear Witness Safari tour of Grand Teton NP! (He also brought excellent coffee, which was much appreciated.) Jim knows the park and wildlife backwards and forwards, and told us a lot about how the mountains were formed and how glaciers also shaped the landscape. He was completely prepared with binoculars and a spotting scope so we could get close-up views and pictures without having to get close to the animals.

We saw moose first thing, drove by a bear semi-hidden in the trees, saw pronghorn antelope frolicking (and resting), and saw a gorgeous sunrise over the mountains. Since we were there early, we had a clear view of the mountains and scenery before the smoke haze from wildfires further west could settle. One of the best parts of the tour was seeing a young osprey practicing flying/landing. Jim told us he'd been watching the nest since the osprey was an egg, and had recently been watching its early landing attempts. While we were observing, it took two laps over the water and made an excellent landing back in the nest! We were out in the park for nearly 5 hours and it was absolutely fantastic.

I really wish we would have booked Jim for a tour in Yellowstone as well, and I would take a Bear Witness Safari tour again in a heartbeat.

We were visiting the Jackson Hole area and decided it would be wise to hire a guide to explore the national park. We found Bear Witness Safari online and made the arrangements. We are so happy we did we received alot of information, photo opportunities, and many animal sightings. We are so happy with our visit, our guide, we are planning a return during the fall season. I highly recommend Bear Witness Safari.

My 91 year old father wanted more than anything to see Yellowstone National park...mainly, i believe, because of the Kevin Costner show, but never the less...we planned the trip prior to the Pandemic!

My husband found Jim online and had an extensive talk with him about what we wanted out of our adventure. Jim went above and beyond any expectation we might have tried to paint in our minds.

Jim showed and taught us things about both nature and the park that very few must know...we feel so empowered by the information that we took in about both the animals and their environment.

We saw elk, osprey, Canada geese, bison and so much more! It was more than my dad could have asked for! Thank youJim, for making a man’s dream come true!

If you are in the Jackson Hole area having Jimmy guide you on a wildlife outing is a must. We went for a 1/2 day tour in January and saw moose, long horn sheep, deer, eagles, elk and a few others animals.
Jimmy was extremely professional and supplied binoculars, coffee and hot chocolate. His van was new, clean and perfect for viewing since it has large windows. We will be back for a longer tour in the summer.

I went on the Teton and Yellowstone safari with Jim with my brother and we had an amazing time.

We saw all kinds of wildlife like bears, wolves, moose, buffalo, elk, a little coyote, and more. We saw everything we wanted to see.

My favorite moment was seeing a huge bear taking a bath in the river and then swimming across.

It seems like Jim has a sixth sense for spotting animals. We will drive by something and Jim will stop the car and look out with his binoculars. We would all lookout to see if something’s out there and we wouldn’t be able to find anything and he would say “i found it. Look over _________” and there would be something out there haha!!

Jim has vast knowledge about the wildlife and plants/trees in Yellowstone and Teton. He will give you all the information and then some so you will definitely know everything there is to know by the time you are done with your safari.

He is also a funny guy. He’s a straight shooter that doesn’t mess around so you’ll hear his opinion and he’ll tell you exactly how he feels about something which made our conversations so fun.

Also, he is extremely safe and cares deeply about the safety of his clients. He is always telling us that we have to be close to him whenever we venture out of the car. Always giving us warnings if we venture too far away to come closer, There is a danger of getting hurt by animals so he is always making sure that we are safe.

Overall I highly recommend Jim as your Teton and Yellowstone wildlife safari guide. We had an awesome time.

Jim at Bear Witness was an amazing host. He asked us at the beginning of the trip what animals we wanted to see and he delivered on pretty much everything. He was a wealth of knowledge about not just animals, but the landscape, plants, area history, etc. He also took some incredible photos during the tour and sent them to us afterwards. All in all I could not have asked for a better experience for my family.

We had a great time with Jim during our tour! He made sure we made the most of our time and we saw some amazing wild life! We saw a pack of 3 grizzlies (walked right in front of our car from the river), mule deer, prong deer, and a few fleet of Elk. It was incredible. I highly recommend Jim if you want to encounter wild life and make the most of the Tetons.

This trip was the least stressful trip and took the least planning Ive ever had to do for a trip. Trust his advice from when to come to where to stay! He was a wealth of information!

Jimmy took care of everything. He planned our activities, catered our meals, he knew the best bathroom spots, he drove us around and we beat the crowds/tour buses, he taught us about the local animals/flowers/plants/rivers/rocks. He made the trip exciting by showing us secret spots. He entertained us as we drove around and made sure we all saw what we wanted to see and took us to do what we wanted to do. We had such a fun time getting to know our van-mates!

I highly recommend you check out Jimmy for your next Grand Teton/Yellowstone multiday trip.

It will be unforgettable and stress free. Isn’t that what we all want on vacation. My only complaint is that i wish i didn’t have to get up so early each morning but seeing the bears/animals and beating the crowds made up for it!
