Backcountry Safaris did a great job on the last day Yellowstone was open for the season. I got to see all the gorgeous sites I wanted to, and the tour guide did a great job of pointing out interesting wildlife along the way. I appreciated the company respecting my safety as well as the safety of the driver by having us wear masks (not mandatory, but it should be!).

My sister and I did a sunset 4 hour tour with Gus. He was a excellent guide. We saw male and female moose, black bear in a tree, a grizzly bear, a bald eagle and , bison. He knew a lot about the animals and a lot about Yellowstone and the Tetons. I would highly recommend Gus in a heartbeat.

My friend and I went on a private Safari with Sarah from Backcountry Safaris and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with her as our guide. She was extremely kind and knowledgeable and knew the answer to all of my questions regarding the wild life, landscape and trees, as well as the history of Wyoming. There didn't seem to be a single question she couldn't answer and I asked a lot! Overall her professionalism and positive spirit contributed to a very pleasant experience; she makes it feel as if you are exploring with a friend (a very smart one at that!) I would definitely recommend doing this Safari tour with Sarah if you want to leave Wyoming with a better understanding of what makes this state so unique and wonderful.

We did a tour with our two younger kids and we felt like it was a great scenic trip. Grand Tetons are beautiful and our guide was great company but calling it a wild life safari feels like false advertisement. We saw some birds of prey, pronghorn from very far, bison from far and a huge elk buck. Our guide tried a few spots were grizzly bears and moose had been seen the day before but we unfortunately didn’t see any. We realize wild life is unpredictable and if we didn’t see a bear and moose in Yellowstone the days before the Tetons, we would probably have been more disappointed. For the price of the tour - 1k for the family, park entrance and boat fare not included (another 100$) - we would have expected a more off the beaten path experience, this really felt like a preplanned fixed itinerary. This tour you can easily do yourself.

We were fortunate enough to go on the Explore Yellowstone Tour with none other than the AMAZING GUS! I have traveled all over the world and no other tour guide compared to Gus. His knowledge is extensive and his personality made me actually say, "I miss Gus" the day after our tour! Don't get me wrong, Yelowstone is absolutely awe inspiring, and you will see everything on this tour. However, if your Travel Stars align and Gus is your guide, the experience is guaranteed to be epic!
