We went fishing with Larry and had the most fantastic time imaginable. We easily caught 30-40 fish in only a few hours and Larry was not only an expert but great to chat with while reeling in trouts. 10/10 would recommend and be sure to ask for Larry!

My son and I were fortunate enough to have a great day fishing with Chad! We caught 32 fish including an 18 inch Cut Throat and some large White Suckers. Chad knew many excellent fishing holes along the River and exactly where to cast! He was very nice, knowledgeable, professional and kept us catching nice size fish throughout the whole day. He also knew a great deal about the wildlife in the area, fishing all over the world and the history of Jackson. Could not have been a better day!

My wife and I spent three full days fly fishing with Klay and Jake on the Snake and New Fork Rivers. All three days were unforgettable! Both guides were extremely patient untying our many tangles , but they were also good teachers who gave valuable instruction to improve our fishing skills or lack of them. The fishing equipment and drift boat was clean and first rate.
Most importantly, both guides were intent on making sure we had a memorable time and caught lots of fish. Their hard work and planning is so evident and appreciated.
We will definitely be back again!

My grandfather fished with Klay for nearly 40 years. I have been fishing with Klay and Jake for the past 15 years. I recently took 2 couples for a long weekend to Jackson and fished 2 days with Jake, Chad and Tyler on the Snake River. Words can’t express their attention to detail. We were picked up on time at the hotel, boats are washed and cleaned every night, lunches and all of the gear are in the boat for a successful trip. They chat with one another where the best fishing spots are to float daily with their clients. Their competitive nature which guide will catch the most fish always guarantees 150 percent effort on their part. None of us claim to be expert fisherman and 2 of the wives in our group had never been in a drift boat nor fly fished. All 3 guides spent the first hour teaching them how to cast, mend and most importantly set the hook. Soon after these lessons everyone caught fish throughout the day despite several tangles, hooking the guide, etc. All 3 guides were 10 times more patient than I would have ever been which made for a terrific day down the river. I truly believe they enjoyed watching someone catch their first fish more than the person catching it. This trip was a little early in the season and Mangis boats were the only guides on the river which shows their dedication. If you are planning a guided fishing trip for the experience of a lifetime you would be crazy to go with any other guide service.

My wife and I highly recommend Mangis Fishing Guides out of Jackson, WY. Our guide Tyler Staal did an excellent job expanding our knowledge of fly fishing and spin casting as he guided out boat down the renowned Snake River. He could not have been a more pleasant guy to spend time with and genuinely excited for us as we pulled in cutthroat trout.

This is to recommend Mangis Guides and Tom Toolson in particular as a guide. My name is Dan Hogan and I have not been incentivized to write this. My wife and I took an all-day fishing trip with Tom as our guide on Oct 1, 2020. It was a beautiful fall day. Tom picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Von Gontard's Landing, a few miles south of Jackson, near Hoback, where we put in. Tom provided the boat and all the necessary fishing equipment. Tom did all the work rowing the boat and keeping our fishing gear just right. As we drifted downstream, Tom offered lots of commentary about the area. It was obvious he knew that area and the Snake River like the back of his hand. Did we catch fish? Yes, we certainly did. We caught (and released) lots of fish- mostly cutthroat trout, mostly in the 11"-14" size range. At roughly 4pm, we reached Elbow Landing where Tom hauled the boat out and drove us back to the hotel. It was a terrific day that I highly recommend for anyone who wants a special experience trout fishing in beautiful Western Wyoming.

My mom and I had an amazing time fishing the Snake River with Tom, our guide. Mom has a bit of fishing experience, but its ~20 years old, whereas I myself have none. Tom didn’t even blink when we shared that little tidbit. He picked us up in his truck at 830am, and it was a quick drive over to the drop in point. He kindly brought a little cooler of water, so we didn’t end up even needing our Camelbaks.

Once we got into the water, he gave us a simple lesson on how to cast and where to aim. I appreciated that he made the instructions easy to follow and didn’t overwhelm us with details. He also was the one tying on our lures, which I really appreciated. As we floated (and he paddled to keep us lined up properly), we got to cast with wild abandon. He told us stories about the area — Tom’s been here for ~40+ years, and knows all of history, lore, and can answer any of your questions about flora, fauna, or the geology of the area. It was so cool! He also has eagle eyes (literally), and pointed out all sorts of interesting sites along the river, including a bald eagle, rock climbers, and hot springs.

He’d guaranteed us that we would catch fish, and lived up to the promise! My Mom probably caught 10 or 12 fish, and I caught a solid 5-6. Again, he made it so easy for us, helping get them out of the water, getting them situated so that we could take pictures, and then getting them released quickly so they wouldn’t suffer. Took all of the pressure off, and let my Mom and I just have a really fantastic time. I 100% recommend this group, and if you get Tom as your guide, you hit the jackpot!!!

We had a 1/2 snake river trip with our guide Tyler Skaal. The experience was fantastic and we caught 28 cutthroat trout in just 4 hours. He was very knowledgeable of the area. We are experienced fisherman and he put us on the fish all the way down the river.

We will definitely fish with Tyler next year!!

The entire fishing trip and the overall experience was a 10. Jake exceeded all exceptions . His knowledge of the river is unparalleled and he knows where the best locations are to catch fish. He knows wildlife, bird species and will spot the beavers, moose and more. Jake was great to spend the day with: engaging, considerate, funny, and just an overall good guy. I highly recommend Jake knowing he will provide a memorable experience and a high success rate of catching fish.

We had a great half day fishing trip with Mangis guide Larry on Aug 15 th. My wife and I both caught some fish and just enjoyed the float down the Snake River. The special purpose float boat was equipped to do either fly or spin casting and Larry was great at teaching and improving on our skills. The guide picked us up right on time at our hotel in Jackson, WY and returned us when the 4 hour trip was finished. Deeann, the owner, was very helpful in setting up the trip in advance and sending a reminder about getting our fishing license. Plus a list of what personal items to bring but they provide all the fishing equipment. There were 3 other boats from Mangis on the river today and the guides traded tips and fishing lures ( and tales) to help all their guests have a fun and successful time. We felt very safe with Larry controlling the boat. The guide also pointed out wild life along the river such as eagle nests, beaver structures and osprey.
