About
Fish the Fly Guide Service is a Jackson Hole, WY based fishing and scenic float guide service. We are a group of passionate guides that are both knowledgeable and patient. We guide on all the Jackson Hole area's major rivers, remote backcountry creeks, and in Yellowstone National Park. We run guided fishing trips year round, both float and wade fishing. We also operate scenic float trips on the Snake River with meals.

Cooper was my guide and he was fantastic. He guides for Fish the Fly and knows where the Cutthroat’s are. Great personality and fantastic awareness for his surroundings.
Treacherous weather. It he found the fish .

Kevin was a great guide- patient, informative, and fun. It was a great day on the river for us first timers. The Snake River is a beautiful backdrop with lots of wildlife activity. Don’t miss an opportunity to experience one of the best ways to spend a day in Jackson.

Our guide Kevin worked very hard to get us the best experience possible even with the changing water conditions… We had a great couple of days on the river and I learned a lot as well.

Knowledgeable, friendly guides make all the difference, particularly when fishing for three days in various types of weather. Fish The Fly’s guides, including JB, the owner, know the fisheries and made a day with them a great experience.

This was the first time I have ever fly fished and I had the time of my life. Our guide, Tim was awesome. He was patient with us beginner's and extremely knowledgeable about the fish and area we were fishing.

I spent a spectacular day fishing in the WY backcountry with Tracy. It was everything I had hoped for from beautiful mountain scenery to big fish to a knowledgable and trusted guide. I highly recommend FTF whether fly fishing for the first time or an expert looking at new water and everyone in between!

We had the MOST fabulous day on the Snake with Bruce! An amazing, knowledgeable guide and, a great secret keeper! Bruce has a magnificent boat , knows his stuff and knows how to keep a secret, He was part of the most beautiful marriage proposal-I was completely surprised! He pulled up to a perfect spot to get out of the boat, captured photos, and pulled out a bottle of champagne and glasses. It was a memorable day to say the least and Bruce and Fish the Fly made the day so incredible. We will definitely be fishing with Fish the Fly and Bruce the next time we are in JH. Thanks guys!!

Tim was an excellent guide and teacher. As a true novices, he taught us how to read the water for possible fish, educated us on flies and provided an excellent lunch. We couldn’t have had a better experience!

I would like to know the cost of this guide service, is it 1/2 day or full day, and is equipment furnished. Also, is it appropriate for a beginner ?

Absolutely appropriate for beginner. We did a half day (about 4 hours on the river) for two people was $595.00. They provided everything including breakfast lunch and all fishing gear and transportation.

Hello, Great question!
All of our guides practice catch & release. There are 3 factors for this reasoning... 1. We've found that most area kitchens stopped cooking guests' catch due to food safety rulings. 2. Due to the fragility of our native trout species here in Jackson Hole and the increase in fishing activity, we've learned that release is the only way to safe-guard the fishery. And 3. Our guides look at the Trout as a business partner, released fish can be re-caught, such securing their jobs.
