What a way to see the park! Matt took our crew into the Grand Teton national park after a full day of snowboarding Jackson Hole. The crew got their second wind as soon as we got into Matt’s tour van and he started to explain the ecosystem. He quickly put us in positions to see Elk, bald eagles, rams, deer, coyotes, wolves, moose, and spectacular views of Grand Teton. It was -9 degrees but that didn’t stop anyone from jumping out of the van to get great looks through the binoculars and Matt’s blankets kept everyone comfortable. This was the best apres ski adventure! My crew couldn’t get enough and we stayed until the last ray of daylight faded behind the mountains. This was a totally unexpected adventure that topped off an epic snowboard trip to Jackson Hole.

Wow is about all I've got. Steven was our tour guide and he was like an outdoors edition of Jeopardy. My 8 year old has insatiable curiosity and probably asked him 1000 questions over our 2.5 days, and Steven answered them all with grace, and about 95% of the time actually knew the answer, despite the obscure nature of some of the questions.
We were a party of 6, from 2 to 61, and we had Steven for a PM Tetons tour and then a custom 2 day tour of Yellowstone with an overnight in Cooke City.
We saw so many animals I can't even begin to count them... mountain goats with babies, grizzly sow with babies, black bear mamas with babies, wolf and pups, moose, elk and more pronghorn and bison than i can count. Steven could spot a dot on a hillside and whip out the spotting scope to show us a wolf and 4 pups. He knew where the less crowded spots to enjoy the canyon and geothermal features were. We also took a couple of very short hikes appropriate to our group, and he made accommodations for the person in our party with limited mobility.
Matt, the owner, was a joy to work with throughout the booking and planning process. I am a travel agent and will be sending all of my Yellowstone/Jackson/Tetons customers to him. This is a small company that caters to its guests and really knows the parks. Don't hesitate to book them.

We wanted to tour the lower loop of Yellowstone, but we weren’t too excited to be the drivers. After reaching out to many private tour companies, I determined Buffalo Roam to be the right fit. Matt listened to our needs and kept in contact as we neared the date of our scheduled trip. Al was our tour guide and was waiting for us as we exited our hotel. Vehicle accommodation was perfect—clean, comfortable, large windows, and lots of snacks, drinks & lunch that we pre-ordered. Al was a wealth of knowledge about Grand Tetons & Yellowstone as well as forestry and ecology. He gave us lots of juicy tidbits of interesting information as we made a journey from stop to stop. It was very apparent that he’s been doing this for a while, as he navigated us through the southern part of the park helping us spot animals, find clean bathrooms, souvenirs, ice cream and pulling over as needed to give us a closer look through binoculars or his spotting scope he set up with safety being high priority. He interacted well with our three kids, ages 10, 13, & 16. We really could not have accomplished everything we did and saw had we chosen to do this on our own. This was a fantastic start to our trip and would without hesitation use this tour company again!

Who wants to navigate Yellowstone on your own when you've driven so many hours to get there? Why not book a private tour with a tour guide who knows all the best spots and where the wild life hang out! We traveled with our teens and they loved it and learned a lot! They are still talking about what they've learned about the ecosystems and the geology. Matt was an amazing guide and a wealth of knowledge. He had a roomy, comfortable van with tasty local snacks. Not to mention binoculars and a scope so you don't miss a thing. The lunch was incredible. We highly recommend this tour if you really want to learn about the area you're visiting. Well worth the money!

Buffalo Roam Tours is an absolutely outstanding tour company. They were first class from the first moment I contacted them. Very responsive to emails and phone calls. I dealt with the owner, Matt from the very beginning and he was just outstanding in his information, recommendations and advice. So we booked an 1/2 day tour with Buffalo Roam of the Grand Tetons and a three days two night tour of Yellowstone. Matt was punctual each day. The vehicle he used was clean, ample room and equipped with top notch binoculars and snacks. As we went on our tours he had examples of different animals, rocks, and leaflets of information on a variety of subjects. He was an absolute pleasure to be around and full of great information. We traveled with our two grandkids who are ages 12 and 10. The dialogue with Matt was well done and he did a great job on explaining information at a level we all could understand. The bottom line was the tours with Buffalo Roam Tours and Matt far exceeded our expectations. The cost of the tours is well worth it and we would highly recommend them for all ages. There were absolutely NO negative issues.

Because of the coronavirus and subsequent closing of Jackson Hole Ski Park, my ski trip to Wyoming with my son got canceled. I had been planning this trip for nearly a year and it was going to be a great father/son experience. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed not to be skiing at Jackson Hole and ALSO we had to cancel our winter safari to the Grand Teton Park with Buffalo Roam Tours - another huge ouch!!! Matt from Buffalo Roam Tours refunded ALL of my money for the canceled safari without any hesitation. I know that he probably ate some credit card fees and certainly went beyond his stated cancelation policy. This tells you a lot about the integrity of Matt and Buffalo Roam Tours. I will be sure to plan another trip to Wyoming and I will certainly be touring the Grand Teton Park with Matt.

My 8yo son and I had an unforgettable experience touring for two days with Buffalo Roam Tours, and I highly recommend them. Our guide, James Raven, is a true expert of Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Teton. We were really impressed with his knowledge of the history, geography, biology and science of the area. We learned SO MUCH more than if we had done this trip by ourselves.
James selected out sites that really showed off the best parts of Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, including gorgeous waterfalls, hot springs, mud pot, geysers and lower falls of the Grand Canyon!
With his scope and binoculars for both of us, he helped us view wildlife like bear, bison, elk, dear, antelope, ravens, eagles etc. We also saw ospreys catching trout in Firehall River and bison casually walking for miles up the road causing a huge traffic jam!
So if you are considering a trip to Wyoming don’t hesitate to contact them!

We spent two days with our the most professional guide, Al. He was down to earth and really knew about all of the in's and outs of both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. The care that this company took to make our tour special from the initial planning 9 months ago to the locally made picnic lunches was spectacular! Be sure to ask for Al as you will not be disappointed!

I scheduled 3 tours with Buffalo Roam Tours:
Private Yellowstone Geothermals & Hiking Tour
Private Yellowstone Wildlife, Waterfalls & Hiking Tour
Private Grand Teton Tour
I strongly recommend all three of these private tours. The scenery and wildlife were out of this world. Steven, our guide, was excellent. He knew all the timing for the various activities and best times to view wildlife and was a very pleasant guide. I would ask for him again for future tours.

If you want a top-notch day trip this is who you want. Matt, the walking encyclopedia, could not be stumped on our trip to Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons. He was very engaging, provided a comfortable van filled with drinks, snacks, and binoculars. We saw lots of wildlife including a grizzly. He made it fun to learn about the geysers and the other basins, etc. This and the stargazing trip was the highlight of our week trip. Check out their website. Thanks Matt!

Hi,
Planning a trip September 2017. How early should one book a tour? Also, we are 4 adults planning to stay in Yellowstone and Jackson Hole/Grand Teton area. Would it be best to book a private tour? How many people in your group tours versus private tours?
Pam
Written August 20, 2016
Hi Pamela,
September is a fantastic time to visit Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Although September used to be a traveler's secret month, we think the secret might be out! It's getting busier every year. I suggest booking at least a month in advance with us to make sure that you get the dates that you want.
Group tours are limited to 9 people, so even on a group tour the experience is personalized. However, our rates for private tours for 4 adults are very economical, especially given that lunch is included on a private tour. Another consideration is that private tours can better accommodate special interests - more hikes, more wildlife watching, and/or more geysers! We can make the tour perfect for the group.
Looking forward to having you on a tour next September!

Planning a trip out there on July 19th for a few days. What would a private tour cost be for 3 kids and 2 adults?
Written July 6, 2016
We paid $900 for a private tour... I would think yours should cost pretty close to that. Totally worth it...and for the number of folks in your group, maybe even cheaper this way.

We will be in Jackson on July 2, 2016. There are three couples ages 58 to 71. Can you tell me what the cost would be for private versus a group with others? We are interested in booking. Kindest regards, Teresa
Written March 18, 2016
HI Teresa,
We offer several different fun options to explore Grand Teton and Yellowstone national park. But a quick answer: Group tours are 2-10 guests, Adults rates are $190 per person for a full day tour of either park. We leave from Jackson WY with hotel pick up. A private tour, think of as a custom buyout. Just your guests and Buffalo roam will craft a special tour to your interests, pace, hiking level, local healthy snacks, lunch and much more is included at a greater cost depending on what you want. Please call us 307-413-0954 or visit our website BuffaloRoamTours for more detail. Let us connect you to our incredible national parks.

We are traveling in our motorhome with our small dog. We are wondering if we can take a private tour with our dog. Leaving her in the motorhome all day is just too cruel.
Written July 21, 2015
I’m so glad you called us yesterday to discuss your question so we could get you the info you needed. But this is a great question so we’ll post an answer for others. With the exception of service dogs, we don’t take dogs along on our National Park Tours because non-service dogs are not allowed in most of the areas we explore in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks—trails, boardwalks, visitors centers/other park buildings. So your dog would have to be cooped up in the van all day long which wouldn’t be fun for them! What we recommend is to utilize one of the great dog sitting outfits here in Jackson—they are reasonably priced, and they are wonderful caring for and playing with your dog for the day when you’re out on a tour. From what we hear the dogs have a great time at the pet-sitter! Just google “Jackson, Wyoming dog sitter” and you’ll get all the options.
Google "Pets in Yellowstone" for more details about traveling with pets in the park. Thanks!

Hi, just curious about price, 2 adults, 2 kids(9 and 11) still in the planning phase of this trip, looking at June 5-9 to be in the area
