We had so much fun with Nate and Jason, 3 of the 4 in the group had never fished before and everyone caught fish and had a great time. The stretch of the Snake River we were on was so beautiful and great fishing. I definitely recommend a full day so you can stop and enjoy lunch on the river. I learned a lot and it was so fun to see my friends catch their first fish! I would recommend and absolutely book again.

Picked Jackson Hole Anglers (JHA) for our full day of fly fishing based on top notch TripAdvisor reviews, and we're so glad we did. Guided fishing trips aren't inexpensive, but having access to Wyoming waters with a guide who knows his stuff totally makes the experience - and Mike did that for us. Picked up our party of 2 (same pricing for 1 or 2 people, so I tagged along to try out fly fishing for the first time) on time at our hotel at 7 AM, and we headed out to the Snake River for the day. (It was easy to get our licenses online in advance, which saved a bit of time, and we chose to have JHA provide all equipment - very much recommended, especially when flying in.) Drove about 15-20 minutes to our launch site, settled in, and headed downriver before 8 AM.

Mike knows the river inside and out, and he started working right away to give me a few basics so I could have a fun day and find some success. He was extremely patient and encouraging, while still repeating what needed repeating (because let's face it, there's a lot to fly fishing!) and making the whole process do-able. We took a couple of breaks along the way - a short snack break mid morning (he provided chips and drinks), and a longer lunch break on shore around noon - and Mike even grilled us up chicken sandwiches and brats for a lovely and hearty meal. At the end of the day, my companion caught 13 fish (cutthroat trout and a local whitefish) and I caught 8 - an amazing first outing, which I credit to Mike for knowing exactly where to go, what lures to use, and how to get me doing what needed to be done. We pulled to shore about 10 miles downriver right at 3 PM, and were back at our hotel about 3:30.

Both I and my companion wholeheartedly recommend JHA and Mike if you want to experience driftboat fly fishing in this amazing environment. A few hints: Dress in easy layers (the temp started in the 30s in the morning but was low 80s by noon), reapply sunscreen - and consider a hat and light long pants and sleeves, and keep hydrated. And bring a camera / phone to get pics of your catch. That's all you need for a great time.

What a great day! Nate was our fishing guide and he was A-MAZING. We caught (and released) Cutthroat trout and Mountain Whitefish... not bad since this was our first ever time fly-fishing. When we weren’t fishing we enjoyed great scenery... learned about the river and surrounding geography... stopped and had lunch on a bank... went through some fun rapids... and ended the day tired and happy. Highly recommended

Due to the snow melt the rivers were too high to float fish. Our guide , Mac, took us to lake Yellowstone for cutthroat fishing. My husband and I had a great day. We caught some trophy trout. Mac took care of everything including fixing our lunch. Very good experience. We will definitely be back to come fishing in this area again.

We came to Jackson Hole for my oldest son's graduation trip. One thing I wanted to do with him, and the entire family, was go fly fishing. It had been 25 years since I had a fly rod in my hand, and my 2 sons and wife had never had the experience at all. I could not have asked for a better day, and better guides. It was all I had hoped for, and then some. Matt and TJ met us early in the morning and we followed them up to Lewis Lake, since the Snake was high and muddy. My oldest son and I went with Matt, and my wife and 13 year-old son went with TJ. They immediately took us to a spot on the lake and put us on the fish. The instruction and patience were unbelievable. At one time, I was sitting there watching both boys and my wife all fighting trout on a fly rod! It doesn't get any better than that! Both Matt and TJ were helpful with tips, teaching different techniques, fixing tangles, and were extremely encouraging the whole time. The lunch they prepared was quite the spread, and the setting could not have been better. Between the 2 boats, we caught about 24 fish, and the day was capped off when my oldest son landed a 22" brown trout. It was a day that none of us will ever forget, especially my two sons.

We were part of a large group from SC. We were paired with TJ the first day and requested to fish with him again on the second. Awesome knowledge of the river and local wildlife. The fish were everywhere he said they would be. He was a very patient teacher, taking my basic skills and helping add some knowledge, like the single and double haul. Guides were on time every morning picking us up from our place. Would highly recommend this guide service. Request TJ, and tell him Anthony from Charleston sent you.

2nd year with this group and Jason...great day for son, dad and grandfather. Hit the "rapids" for some extra excitement along the way and pulled in well over 20 cuththroat trout. Lunch was glorious again with chicken, fruit, avocado, chips, cookies and brownies. Going again Thursday before we leave...keep up the good work...

Ryan, our guide was fantastic. It was not a prime day to be on the water (high water from the snow melt, and very fast moving) but Ryan guided us to successful fishing. He navigated the rough conditions very well, and knew where to take us to have the best opportunity at catching fish, which we did. He was extremely personable and professional and we had a lot of confidence in him early on.

We did a family tour - each couple having their own boat. Literally best money we’ve ever spent, this experience really made our entire trip, it was our favorite activity and we had a full packed schedule. What a relaxing day on Lewis lake. Glass like water in the morning and a stress free afternoon of catching fish. Even if you don’t catch anything it’s still worth the fun! (They did make sure we all caught something too) we had Ryan as our guide and he was phenomenal!! Can’t say enough great things about this group and the delicious lunch we all got to eat together on the bank halfway through. Would definitely book again when we come back to jacksonhole - we went fishing in Yellowstone! Absolutely beautiful scenery and felt so great to be disconnected and out in nature. Thank you so much!!

We decided to splurge a little and do the full-day fly fishing trip with Jackson Hole Anglers. Because of the May runoff, I couldn't find anyone else willing to do a trip. Jackson Hole Anglers were happy to make something work on a river we could still fish. It's a good bit of money for a one-day event, but is competitively priced with all the other other outfitters in the area.

Rhys (pronounced Reece) was our guide and was incredibly patient with us, as we have never fly fished before. He is very knowledgeable and is a great teacher. He taught us enough to get a few fish in the boat! And what a great experience. Gave us a hunger to learn more about the sport and continue on with it.

The trip down the river was a beautiful event in itself. Also saw a moose and some eagles along the way. Highly recommend Jackson Hole Anglers.
