My teenage son picked this as our last activity on our trip before we headed home. We were NOT disappointed. Staff was super friendly and helpful when checking in. Clean facilities to change if needed. Tom was our river guide and he was amazing!!! He had tons of experience. Made us feel really safe. He pointed out wildlife and told funny stories. The scenery was beautiful. My son jumped out and floated alongside the boat at a point where the river was calm. Wet suits can be rented for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!!

Our party of 11 consisted of 7 teenagers 2 in college, 4 in high school and on in middle school. We had an absolute blast and are convinced we had the absolute BEST rafting guide - Rick - which was icing on the cake. Weather was amazing, float portion was perfect, river could not have been better and the whitewater was exactly what we were looking for with our group. Rick was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife, the river, rafting, the area, and our safety was always his top priority. He was fantastic with the teenagers, engaged with everyone on the raft, and made sure we were all having a great time, “crushed waves”, “rode the bull”, and “sent it”, the entire day! If we’re lucky enough to come back to Jackson we would absolutely raft again with Jackson Whitewater and would insist on having Rick as our guide! This outfit is a TOP NOTCH, 100% professional rafting company and safety is critical to their operation. Take one of Jackson Whitewater rafting trips - you won’t be disappointed!!

Awesome ride! We had a fantastic guide (Collin) who gave us the perfect balance of fun and safety. All 3 in my party agree this was our best whitewater trip ever. I recommend the small boat-it is faster, more fun and you get a LOT of action. Get the wet suit! I am a big baby from Florida and I need 90 degree water to not be cold, and with the wet suit, I was not cold in 40 degree water at all. My only suggestion is that we could not hear the bus driver AT ALL in the back, so may be a microphone would be helpful. Super great time for all ages - we had 3 generations age 13-62. Be prepared for a fairly steep walk up a hill to get on return bus. Great directions, communication and all the staff were outstanding! Highly recommend!

On July 7th we booked the all day combination float and whitewater rafting trip for our family of 4 for August 5th. On August 5th, just 2 days before our rafting trip we were notified that our trip was cancelled by Jackson Hoe Whitewater because all the trips were full and JHW could not re-accommodate us with an alternative date. They just kicked us to the curb without any reasonable explanation. We were told we would get our money back, but this was one of things we really wanted to do and not it is too late to book a similar Snake River trip with any other tour group. Why did JHW wait nearly a month and 2 days prior to cancel our reservation? I would not recommend Jackson Hole Whitewater.

Our guide Taos was terrific. Shared knowledge of the River and surroundings. Pointed out wildlife with explanations, assessed our desire and ability when approaching white water and provided an exciting and fun time on the Snake!

The combination float/whitewater trip was incredible. Our group ages were 17, 19, 46, 50, 74 & 76 and every single one of us had an absolute blast! The float was relaxing, scenic and a great lead in to the whitewater rafting portion of the trip. Our guide Matt did a great job of steering the raft through the rapids to give us the thrill without the spill. This is one adventure both my kids and my parents will be talking about for years to come.

Had a great experience at Jackson Hole Whitewater while in Jackson on vacation. Our family of 4 booked the Small 8 Person Boat Whitewater trip on the Snake River and it over delivered! JP our guide was awesome. He taught us a lot about the River the area and we had a great trip. Plenty of rapids and waves to go around. We even saw 2 bald eagles during our float. I highly recommend JHWW and can’t wait for our next visit. Be sure to ask for JP!

Our guide took the time to get to know all of us by name, making it more fun and personable. He was excellent with the kids! We enjoyed how he pointed out certain fun facts and wildlife/nature features. He did all the work getting us down the river, making it the most peaceful river float I have ever experienced. Great family time!

We did the full day combo trip with the float and river rafting. It was fantastic! First, it was easy to book online, and well organized once you get there. Shawn or “mama” the bus driver is just the sweetest! She was so kind to my daughter who had a foot injury but still went on the rapids. Shawn made a big fuss of her!
The guides make all the difference and Roslyn is just the best!! She was fun, had a great attitude and was very knowledgeable about the river and the animals that congregate along it. She saw and pointed out 3 bald eagles, and told us about the osprey/ eagle fights over fish. We even saw an eagle fly down and grab a fish right out of the river!
She also made the ride fun for the kids! My three kids got to “ride the bull” which meant they sat at the front of the boat and got to ride the rapids with feet dangling off the front! They got soaked and had the best time! She even let my daughter steer for a bit in the back. Roslyn is the very best! Ask for her. Highly recommend this company!

Great scenery with awesome guides! Everett was fun and super informative. Originally wondered if a scenic float would be exciting enough for our teenagers but they loved it. JHWW was super flexible as the weather on our original day was cold and wet, they had room on a raft later in the week and allowed us to switch days to make our trip the most enjoyable possible. 100% recommend.

Like others I really don't think it matters and it totally depends on what you want. At most times of the year I suspect you can find options for white water or slower less challenging drifts down raw river

If you go when the weather is warmer, like we did in August, you only need a wet suit jacket, and wear some shorts. They also give you wet suit shoes to wear.

I was debating between reserving an late morning or early afternoon trip. One company also offered a mid afternoon white water trip with a meal part way down stream. Has anyone done that? is it worthwhile ? Is it getting too cold and not enough sun in the canyon be late afternoon ? Any advice would be helpful.. Also, is there much difference between the companies ?

We did a 9:45 trip and were never cold. A bag lunch was served upon exiting the river. I have no experience with other vendors as I worked solely with JHWW. I do highly recommend them

No, sorry. We didn't do that together with one outfitter. We did rafting with Jackson Hole Whitewater and then we rode by doing something called Introduction to Rodeo where they actually teach you barrel racing, roping and such. I have experience riding and my husband had none at all. And we both had a MUCH better time doing this rodeo riding class than we would have on a normal "trail ride". Hope this is helpful:-)
