I booked a 1/2 day photographic safari with Jack & Gina Bayles for the first full day of my Tetons trip. It was incredible & I can’t wait to return and safari with them again. Later in the week I attended a photo workshop that I expected to be mostly landscape, and asked that we focus mostly on animals. We saw moose, bison, elk, bighorn sheep, grouse, otters, mule deer, bald eagles & tundra swan. We also stopped for some scenic shots and Jack was very helpful with photo pointers.
By learning of the animal locations I was also able to go back throughout the week and see/photograph wildlife in action.
Jack & Gina arrived on time and with plenty of Scooby snacks & water. Their ride was very comfortable and we were covid masks when in the car/next to each other.
I can’t wait for my return! I highly recommend them and if possible, make their safari the first part of your trip.

We talked to Jack and Gina by phone before booking their photography tour, and they both were very informative and helpful. My husband and I and another couple who are good friends all joined in a half-day tour with Jack and Gina back in June (apologies, Jack and Gina, that I have been so slow in writing a review!). Our goal was to find 399, and we did! However, we glimpsed her and the quads in a heavily wooded area so we didn't get a good view of the cubs, and it was just about impossible to pull off photography. Jack pulled off down the road and we waited for awhile hoping that 399 would come our way, but had no luck. After that, Jack drove us all around in hopes of finding her again, while Gina checked texts and listened to her radio for any tips on bear sightings. They made a valiant effort to find 399 for us again, driving to all of 399's favorite haunts within Grand Teton National Park, to some spots multiple times.
We also stopped at many scenic viewpoints, and Jack provided tips on getting the best landscape photography shots, as well as pointers on wildlife photography. We enjoyed spotting an active blue heron nest. During the drive, Jack and Gina both shared their knowledge about the area, the park, 399, and other wildlife. We enjoyed learning more about Grand Teton's wildlife; their knowledge and expertise were appreciated. They both truly have a caring and protective heart towards wildlife, which I greatly admire and appreciate all that they do to help protect the wildlife that we love to see and to photograph.

Wonderful half-day tour of Grand Teton National Park, Elk Refuge, Signal Mountain, Church of the Transfiguration, Jenny Lake and more. Saw bear, moose, elk, bison. Jack and Gina, expert photographers and naturalists, provided detailed histories of the area, the Mormon settlements, evolution over millions of years, habits of the animals, good stories on Mama Bear 399 and her many cubs. Jack used a long lens to capture animals roaming in the brush, then emerging. Got very close to a big male moose and then statuesque elk. Snacks, coffee, tea and water provided. Well-paced wildlife experience with 16 family members at a reunion, starting at dawn, which we recommend highly.

If you love nature, bears, elk, moose, breathtaking scenery, photography, and spending time in God's country, let Jack and Gina Bayles take you on a life-changing day or days through the Grand Tetons. While we didn't see 399 and her cubs, we saw most every other form of wildlife imaginable. Jack and Gina are dedicated to you, and what you want to photograph, when you are with them, and will go the distance in trying the find the animals you want to see. They know all the right places for bear hangouts, bear jams, elk bugling, breathtaking majestic mountain shots at just the right angle, and anything that you can imagine or desire to see and photograph. Their love for wildlife, grizzlies, nature, and the Grand Tetons are evident in everything they say and expose you to on your photography tour. The day we spent with them in late September was the highlight of our week in the Tetons. And, afterwards, they gave us many text updates that week for 399 sightings, along with other animals. Don't think twice as to whether or not this will be a great tour. You cannot go wrong. Jack and Gina will give you memories of a lifetime.

What an amazing experience we had with TEAM 399 (Jack & Gina)!! We just returned from a wonderful vacation to Grand Teton National Park and I felt like we left family members behind. We are not photographers by any stretch of the imagination. From the moment I booked our photography tour with team 399 we where treated like family. Every step of the way, Jack and Gina guided us as to what we should bring and what to expect. They put us in contact with a lens rental company who outfitted me with a 150 - 600 mm lens & tripod that where waiting for me in Jackson when we arrived. The day we went out I felt like a photographer with all my “Professional” equipment until the questions started. After Jack quizzed me on my camera/photography knowledge he quickly knew I was going to need some help. He explained to me the different settings I would need to use to get the most from my equipment and take amazing pictures. He explained everything in simple terms and continued to make sure I had all settings correct. As we drove into the park, Jack & Gina shared with us their knowledge and love of the park as well as all the amazing animals that live in it. The day was made special when we had the opportunity to photograph a 4 year old female grizzly bear (Fritter)!! We saw and photographed many other animals but the grizzly was our highlight. Team 399 stayed in contact with us the balance of our stay in Jackson Hole to let us know where we could find grizzlies and other wildlife. I can go on and on about how wonderful Team 399 and our experience was, but I suggest if you are reading this you should book a tour and find out first hand!! Thank You Jack & Gina for an unforgettable experience and vacation!! We will be back soon.

We took a half day break from skiing while in Jackson Hole recently to do a wildlife photography session with Jack. We are very much just amateur photographers with a passion for wildlife, and this trip far exceeded all our expectations and ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! Jack and Gina were fantastic hosts, managing to find us several great animal and bird sightings in a short amount of time, as well as providing us with really useful photography tips, helping us to set up shots and even lending us some of their equipment. We saw a Great Horned Owl, coyotes, big horn sheep, elk, moose, bison, trumpeter swans, eagles and even a pack of wolves (from a distance). I would highly recommend this trip to photographers of all levels (they are very good at tailoring it to whatever you are interested in) as well as wildlife-loving non-photographers. The Teton National Park is beautiful and this was a fantastic way to experience it. We have been to Jackson Hole several times in Winter over the years (travelling from overseas) but we loved this part of our trip so much that we are are now talking about going back to Jackson outside of ski season just so we can do a longer trip with Jack and Gina to see the bears (who were still hibernating when we were there this time).

This was by far our #1 favorite outing after 40+ years of visiting GTNP and YNP.
Team 399 is so much more than an awesome photography opportunity. Gina & Jack are passionate wildlife advocates with a wealth of info on the local wildlife, environment and impact of natural and manmade factors affecting this sacred area. A Team 399 tour is both educational and a natural outing delight to explore with expert guides who were as excited as we were for wildlife and scenery viewing that had us laughing and learning.
Because Team 399 isn't a larger "close quarters" group tour offered by other companies in the area, Gina & Jack tailored our Team 399 tour of 3 to our own personal interests with their rich knowledge and network of where to go, with quick detours along the way for reported wildlife sightings. And because we're not photographers, Team 399 set up a scope with cell phone for incredible shots and video of black/grizzly bears, moose, pronghorn, bison, etc. for memories we will forever treasure.
We quickly booked another Team 399 outing for a couple of weeks after our 1st tour when the seasons had changed from late summer to fall. It will be our #1 to do upon our return. Thank you, Gina & Jack a/k/a Team 399 for the most amazing days, laughs, and sharing snacks, coffee, and hot chocolate and tea along the way.

What a phenomenal experience we had with Jack and Gina! They have a wealth of information about the Park and local Wildlife, overall area AND 399 and her "Quads"! We saw them twice while on Tour! As cliché as it sounds, it was a life changing experience. We also got professional instruction on how to get the best photos. We are still talking about our experience along with the fact that Jack ground fresh coffee beans for part of our refreshments. With just the four of us on Tour, we felt very special and part of Team 399!

My husband and I took a tour with Jack and Gina on a frigid day in January and loved every minute of it! I started relearning manual settings on my camera for the first time since high school with Jack’s incredibly patient and knowledgeable instruction. He (and Gina) are great teachers. And even if you have no interest in photography, I would still recommend you book with Jack and Gina if you want to see wildlife and incredible scenery. Their love of wildlife and knowledge of the best spots to safely view them are outstanding. My husband is not a photography enthusiast but he loved our time with Jack and Gina. Thanks guys!

We have been to JH and GTNP several times, and have used a bigger tour company, but a private tour. This time around, I wanted to see grizzly 399 and her quadruples. Just five bears in 300,000 acres, how hard could that be, right, LOL! I posted a request for a recommendation in a FB group, and received a referral to Jack and Gina Bayles. I phoned, and received a response at the end of the day (I assumed they would be touring with other guests, so did not expect an immediate response). First, they are super nice people. Next, Gina is most amazing with a scope, and Jack is highly knowledgeable about the history of the area, wildlife, and many other things. The best part of our day was that we achieved our goal, and saw 399 and COY quads, along with 630, her daughter and yearling twins (one is bigger than mom). I actually shed tears of joy. They are, in a word, AWESOME!
