Big Lost caters to minute details within their building to provide an experience that will last with you for a long time. So drink out of a horn, play some games, and have a conversation again. Great chance to try something unique
Sep 2021 • Couples
On a road trip, wanting to experience memorable things...found this place through Tripadvisor.
The young lady behind the counter is amazing, very knowledgeable and helpful.

We got a flight of mead to try, and bought some for gifts.

We also bought freshly canned beer that she canned for us.

Super fun experience.

Best brewery in town!
Jul 2020 • Couples
Good selection of own brew and other brewery offerings. Mead was new to us, but samples were offered and enjoyed. Ended up with a bottle. Nice conversation and learned a lot about town from the friendly staff. Wish we had more time to spend. If we are ever in town again, this will be the first place we stop.

Mead and Beer
Sep 2019
A limited selection of beers and mead, but that is perfect since the brewers can focus on making top quality product instead of having to spread their attention over a dozen or more beverages. The facility is a bit funky, but only because of it's history in Gillette. Had a small meeting in the basement which was a perfect place for it. Would definitely go back.

Phenomenal

I was in town on business and escaped to the Meadery twice during my stay. The drinks are tasty, fun atmosphere with drinking horns and games, and the owners tending bar were kind, generous and quality people.

Wild West Meets Civilization

As a supporter of craft beverages we were extremely pleased finding this oasis in the middle of energy country. It is decorated with western artifacts and dead animals with a wood burning stove in the front area for additional comfort. It was a slow and very cold night with only one of the owners minding the store so we got a great conversation and tour of the brewery while changing a keg. The mead is made off site. My wife had the Crazy woman mead, as it fits her, and I had an ale. Her mead was spectacular and my ale was just alright. I do recommend going here. They have menus from near by cafes that deliver and it's just added to your tab for convenience. It reminds myself of another place and time, the Arminto Hotel and bar. It's long burnt down, but some of the old timers might remember it.

I got to enjoy this fantastic place when I was on a tour of the facilities. What a neat place and the history of meadery. Awesome tasting too. I would definitely suggest a stop in here. No loud music. No televisions. There is a game room in the basement.

Hidden Gem!
Jun 2018 • Friends
Big Lost is a hidden gem in the area! Great atmosphere with unique drinks. Mead on tap changes with seasonal meads and the craft beer is delicious. The building is bursting with character and the bar tenders are great. Must visit!!

First time tasting Mead, this is a very unique place. They also brew beer. A definite must stop. They serve the mead in cow horns, I preferred the Black miner.

Great Mead
Feb 2018 • Couples
Who would think there would be a meadery in Gillette of all places. We were up visiting our son and he told us about it so went to check it out. A great place with a very nice atmosphere and very friendly folks running it. The mead is great and they have a great story behind every one. They also brew beer which is also good. We will be making this a regular stop when we go up to visit so we can pick up a few bottles to take home.
