I went hete to do some photography of the wild horses. The landscape is awesome. It's so peaceful. You can't see any buildings and you feel like you are 100 miles from everything else. The sunset was breath taking. Don't go during the winter unless you have a 4WD. It is dirt roads.

We knew we were taking a chance when we didn't take an off road tour but we preferred to drive ourselves - we left early in the morning but that didn't help. We saw about a dozen horses spread throughout and a few antelope- they were beautiful but too far away for the experience we were hoping for. Despite this,... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. As we rode out the scenery was beautiful. We first found a small group of stallions and watched them for a few minutes. It was amazing to see them so close. We continued driving looking for the main herd and finally spotted them off the trail we were driving on, they were... More

First, at least an SUV is necessary. The good road is a rough gravel track and the 2 tracks were too wet and rough to risk taking our SUV on, be aware it would be a long haul to get a tow out of there. Even if we hadn't seen the horses it would be worth the trip because the... More

Off again to photograph horses. These horses are true mustangs in the sense, many have bloodlines from ranchers/farm horses, Native Americas, some true Spanish Mustang blood. I will say they have some of the most beautiful paints I've ever seen. One black and white, had a long flowing main, amazing looking horse. Since I didn't have anyone to talk to... More

Several horse herds to view though most were far off the path. The drive through the management area is just beautiful. When viewing wild horse herds it is hit or miss as to how close or far you will be from the herd, but it is well worth the journey on this scenic drive.

While others are lined up to get into the Yellowstone parking lot in summer the locals are here looking for wild horses and exploring thousands of acres of wild desolate contorted nooks and crannies of nature...there's always some vestige of the old west left to be uncovered here.

OK- I have loved horses all my life and sell horse properties in Texas, so I may be a bit slanted. Seeing America's wild horses in the wild was on my bucket list. We were staying in the Grand Tetons but drove up to Cody WY to see if we could see the wild horses. We went into Buffalo Bill's... More

Sadly, we did not have the opportunity to see the horses, but it was still a beautiful drive. Saw plenty of antelope though. If it looks like it's going to storm, be careful. The roads are of course dirt and go way back in there, you don't want to get caught way back out there in the rain.

There are more horses than you can imagine; we went on a stormy day the horses were very restless...There many fights among the stallions......
