There were 9 of us on a family vacation ages 4 to 66. Highly recommend this company ALL of us had a great time, safety was priority, they made sure all the kids 4 of them were wearing their life jackets properly and helped them too. Our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable about the area. Kids were ages 4, 11, 13, and 16 and they all loved it. The 4 year old said it was his favorite thing on the trip "getting mommy wet was funny". Also beautiful scenery along the way. Thus is your company that you want to.raft with in Cody!!

Had a quick trip today on the river with Wyoming River Trips.
Was approximately 1-1/2hrs with a few small little rapids. We had 8 people and a guide in our raft. The guide was knowledgeable and had lots of tidbits of information to share while heading down river. About the half way point you could get out and take a dip in the river.
We picked them because they followed Covid guidelines pretty well and seemed to care about not transmitting. They offered masks for those who didn’t bring them and offered hand sanitizer inside the facility.
They claim they clean everything thoroughly with bleach/sanitizer solution between uses. We were unable to verify this.
Would recommend them for people wanting to river raft in Cody. I’d love to swing by again, when the rapids are a bit bigger during the early season.
They offered pictures for sale for $20-25, but we had no need for them.

We could not be happier with our rafting experience with Wyoming River Trips. We have rafted with them before but this time we had our grandson who is visiting from Oklahoma with us. The river was really flowing and it was a fun ride. Our guide, Bailey, did A great job. He was funny and informative and pointed out some things we had not seen before. The owner, Ron, took great care of us even when we had to change our reservation because of the weather. Everyone was very professional and made the trip a blast. We highly recommend Wyoming river trips whether you are a local or from out of town.

If you are looking for a great whitewater experience in Cody look no further than Wyoming River Trips. They currently offer two rafting trips, and of the two they offer, go with the longer trip (the Red Canyon and the Lower canyon). It’s only about 15 extra dollars and you will get about an hour and a half of extra River time( and a couple of extra nice class three rapids as well)
The rafting trips are priced reasonably and the Shoshone river provides thrill for the adrenaline junkies and peace and quiet for those who are not.
Our guide was Jasper and he is a consummate professional. He is personable and goes to great lengths to ensure that everyone is having a good time. I appreciated it when he turned the boat so that we did not have to go straight into the teeth of a persistent headwind.
Wish I could go again tomorrow.

If you're looking for a whitewater trip near Cody book with Wyoming River Trips. Run by two of the best in the business, Landon and Elyse set up an incredible full canyon ride for a group of 12 kids down the lower canyon. Our guides, Jacob and Colton, expertly navigated the river, kept the kids safe, and even took the time to show them all the natural features and hidden gems of the lower canyon. I highly recommend booking a trip through Wyoming River Guides and can't stress their 'professionalism with a smile' enough. I will absolutely be back to book my own trip.

Trying to accommodate a party of 30 is always tasking, however, they were so accommodating for our family. They kept us together and for a majority of us this was our first time. Bailey was our guide and he was awesome. The entire staff was great and they made it so fun for us. We will definitely be back.

My parents and I booked the Full Canyon (12 mi) trip that included breakfast. Our guide David was incredibly knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We had so much fun laughing, paddling, sightseeing, and occasionally getting soaked with rapids. Breakfast included these breakfast burritos from a local restaurant (and they were super good), tangerines, brownies (from same restaurant), coffee, tea, and a variety of juices. We met at Wyoming River Trips and took a bus to the drop off location maybe 5 min down the road. Then floated along the Shoshone River for a few miles and took a break for breakfast. Then we continued on the rest of the trip. No complaints whatsoever! If you get a chance to try Wyoming River Trips out, ask for David. He was wonderful! If we are ever back in Cody, we’ll be coming back!

My fiance and I decided to do the dual kayaking trip and it was fantastic. Jordan was our guide and not only was she exceptionally helpful but she was a lot of fun to talk to down the rapids. We were even allowed to join the rafting trip with Zach who was also amazing along with Jordan. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is looking for something different or just wants to enjoy some time on the rapids.

Let me tell you what, I do not do reviews ever, however, this place was over the top fantastic. Every person I talked to on the phone, solid. So great. I walked in to this place the morning of, hungover as balls and the sentence that comes out of the ladies mouth: do you want bloodies. Sold. Right there we were a group of 16 on a bachelorette party who had a 9:30 am ride and hungover as balls. They were so great they probably sprayed febreeze after we left from the our pores sweating of alcohol.
Keenan and Kiki. Great. Dad jokes were flying. The river was beautiful and the trip was so so good. Very very well worth the time and money.

We did the 4 hour Breakfast Trip. We had a 10 and 7 year old, it was perfectly age appropriate. David is a great guide and rafter. Very knowledgeable about the area.
I had my doubts about the pre-made meal, but I was wrong. The breakfast burritos were tasty and still warm.
Disapponintg adult- After our trip our kids were exposed to an irrate customer who was rude, obnoxious and had no self awareness. She was irrate because she paid a fee and booked the trip for a single raft. The reality is, she was just one of a family of extremely large, over weight people. Because of their morbid obseity the limits of the raft would not safely accomdate the load and they were split into two rafts. The Staff showed a great deal of patience and remained calm whule she derated and swore at them demanding a refund. Moral is- if you are hundreds of pounds overweight don't be surprised if you can't all sit together.

How long does it take for each trip offered:
Red Rock?
Lower Canyon?
North fork?
I realize the speed of the river is an unknown factor so please give an estimated range.
Thank you!

We went yesterday and the river was at 4000 cubic feet per second. It took us 2 1/2 hours for the 12 mile trip from start to finish including the bus rides from launch and back.

Hello, we are considering adding this to our trip but I am wondering how the water levels in early July effect the rapids? Which trip is the easiest/calmest?
Written February 4, 2018
Sorry for the delay, early July I expect water levels to be elevated. At this point our snowpack is above normal. That means our river goes from Class 2 to Class 3. Trips are still family friendly. Age limit is 5 years in elevated water, 3 or 4 years old in normal water. Trip 1 and Trip 2 are the most popular.
Again sorry for the delay.
Rick Blanchard.

Any age or size restrictions for young children?? I am thinking of taking my grandson.
Also, I have some physical problems and would not be able to paddle. Can I just ride along?
Written July 13, 2016
Thank you for your interest in Wyoming River Trips. The Red Rock canyon and Lower Canyon adventures are perfect for families with young children. Beautiful canyons, abundant wildlife and family friendly white - water at this time of year. Our trips are appropriate for children from 3-4 years of age. We seat the children in the middle rear of the raft between adults.
Through the years we have been able to accommodate many of our guests with varying degrees of physical challenges. We believe the magic of a river trip experience should not be limited to just the able bodied.

How many Rapids are there in your red rock canyon, north fork, and lower canyon trips?
Written May 23, 2016
Thank you for your interest in Wyoming River Trips. The RedRock canyon section has approx. 5-6 sets of rapids ranging in wave height or 2.5-4 foot waves.
The Lower Canyon is an extension of the RedRock canyon section and has an additional 4-5 sets of rapids ranging in wave heights of 2.5-5 foot waves. Both of these sections are mainly class II-III rapids.
The Northfork section starts 4 miles from Yellowstone and is a free flowing river fed by winter snow-pack from Yellowstone National Park. This section is class III with about 8 sets of rapids ranging from 2.5-6 foot waves in spring runoff. The season length for this trip is limited by mountain runoff.

Do these rafts tip over from time to time on the tamest run? I am a non swimmer with some fear of the water, but have experienced rivers, lakes and snorkeling with a life vest on. Not too sure if this is a fast rapid where you are getting tipped over and having to climb back in. Would you say pretty safe for a novice non swimmer?

Thank you for your interest in Wyoming River Trips. In response, safety is our first priority. Our staff has many years experience on river from the Colorado River in Grand Canyon to most of the major rivers of the west. In our 38 years in business we have floated 350,000 passengers safely on our river adventures. In that period we have had 5 boats turn over in extreme high water with no personal injury.
Most of our guests have little experience on rivers and many are non-swimmers. I hope I have eased your concerns. We would love to have you experience the magic of a river trip with Wyoming River Trips.
PS. We are currently in average water levels.
